BBC's Seven Ages of Rock
http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/sevenages/
The title is self-explanatory, actually; it's a documentary about seven ages of rock. Each film focuses on an 'age' of rock and tells the story of the genre through a number of key artists. We just downloaded most of the episodes and I've just seen part 4 (about heavy metal), 5 (stadium rock) and 6 (grunge) and I really liked them. BBC sure knows how to make proper documentaries. Or at least so I think :) Has anyone else watched (and liked) this series too? Oh Kathleen, when you do wind up downloading this too, you might like part 5; big part on Bruce there :) |
i seen the kiss one where they made 70 mil dollars a year or something but the bon jovi part was fuvked off by the whole manufactured stadium bad part lol

Yeah we watched it last year i think and its very good :)

I've watched some of them and TBH I don't think it's a brilliant documentary, too focussed on a small number of bands in an 'age' rather than giving a proper overview IMO

I watched the one about the Libertines and Pete Doherty, i thought it was pretty good.

watched the stadium rock one. they literally call 2 of the greatest stadium rock bands ever to have graced this planet, bon jovi and guns n' roses, "empty bombast". what the ****? and of course, U2 is the ultimate stadium rock band, not even the Stones match up to them. ****in' retards. hearing stuff like that just makes me want to beat up those journalists.
also, since when the heck is KISS a stadium rock band? just bollocks...very disappointing and a lot of empty talk. |
