Encore 2: Treat Her Right (Cover)

Just looking at this opening show of the 'HAND' tour again. Why so many acoustic/TLFR songs in the set? and generally a very poor set list. I just don't get why the opening show would be like this. Does anyone know if there was a reason??

I think it was a test setlist (opening night and all) and when reactions were quite negative about the TLFR/Acoustic songs the setlist was swiftly changed.

Just seems a shame for those fans

I guess, but not EVERYONE is as anal as we are about setlists. Casual fans got their hits.

because Bon Jovi sucks big time, they don't care as long money comes in. You don't understand?

No, that show sold out faster than any other artist that played there that year including Green Day and Paul McCartney. Bon Jovi had not been to Des Moines since the NJ tour. Those fans were overjoyed just to have the band playing there, I'd say 95% of them didn't even notice the set list.

And yes, it was the first show, so Jon was toying around with having an acoustic type set in the middle of the show. But, 5 songs proved to be too much and brought the energy down so after the 3rd show the TLFR songs were cut down to 2 or 3 including the new Blaze arrangement.

I think that's an OK setlist.
Nothing spectacular, and one or two to many acoustic songs, but I don't think it's all that bad.
I'd kill to get Love For Sale..
