Talking about iPods...
I'm lost in technology.
You see we have a DVD recorder and an iPod video and wanted to try and load things recorded from TV onto the iPod. Turns out we don't know how. And the more we try the more difficult things are. Our DVD recorder offers two recording formats: VRO and VBO. VRO can only be transformed into iPod format by purchasing software (trial versions put huge watermarks and the quality is not so good, plus they take ages to convert very short clips). VBO can be converted by our free and up until now very reliable and fast converter (Coyote) but given that VBO creates two files - one for sound and one for image - the converter makes that too, so we can't watch whatever it is because we have two totally separated files. Has anyone 'explored this venue'? I hope so because we're going crazy here. Thanks! |
This program will convert any video to iPod video format - usually mp4
http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html Read the faq on the site and the features. It's also FREE. I use it to convert all sorts of audio and video. I have also used this for about 2 years so even over time I haven't had any problems with it. So just take your DVD files and convert them this way. Just so you know a .VOB file is just an .mpeg file with some special headers so you can change the file extention from .VOB to .mpg without a problem. I do it all the time. Just remember that DVD video has 48 kHZ audio and CD's have 44 kHZ audio. |
Thanks a lot, Kathleen!
I'm downloading that program as we speak. I didn't know about the extension  Will try both things - hopefully with positive results. I will let you know. Thanks again! :D |
Ooh, Kathleen - that was fantastic! It works amazingly well!!
Thanks again! |
