Just a hypothetical query to put to some of you who may work in insurance or own an Aston Martin but how much (ballpark figure) would it cost to insure an Aston Martin V12 Vanquish?

As you can imagine, most stupid insurance firms don't offer online quotes for such vehicles and won't provide a figure unless you ring them. I don't particularly want to waste their time with a (currently) hypothetical query.

Any of you guys able to shed any light on a rough figure?

Your right arm i believe is the going rate.

It'll vary massively depending on your circumstances. Give one of the prestige car insurers a call; they'll be able to give you the best rate and won't be forcing a hard sell on you. The probably get general enquiries all the time. We have a company who we get a good deal with on prestige cars but their name escapes me currently.

Yeah, it's not like I'm gonna be going out and buying one next week but it is something that I'd considered saving for. Of course it's one thing saving the £££ for the car but another thing if it's gonna cost a ridiculous amount a year to keep it on the road.

The running costs are astronomical, I know that. They guzzle fuel (particularly the V12 you're looking at) and they aren't cheap to repair when things go wrong, either. Are you after a head-turner or that car in particular? There are plenty of cars a lot lighter on the insurance with far smaller running costs that'll do the trick of making people stare at the traffic lights.

Nah, I've had my eye on the Vanquish for a few years so that was the reason for choice. I know they are far from the most reliable or best handling of super cars but it's just a gorgeous car.

For that reason, I'd be buying it primarily for my love of the car rather than the ponse factor! It's a stunning, work of art on wheels! :lol:

I've been wantin a vanquish for ages now too. Think it'd take a lottery win for me to be able to afford it though!!

How much do they actually cost?

A brand new Vanquish S will cost you somewhere between £150k and £180k, depending on whether you plump for an ex-demonstrator (which will be hardly used) or something straight out of the factory. You could get a 5 year old one in great condition to a very high spec. for £75k or so.

Cool, was quite sure they cost close to £200,000. Like I said.... i'd need a lottery win to be able to afford one at the moment lol.

Quite like the Vanquish S in black at the top! The extra two seats in the back should keep the missus happy too - it's a family car! :D

A few Bugatti Veyrons on that site too but that's some jump in price!! Don't like the look of the car that much either.
