australia tour date!!!
American rockers Bon Jovi will play the Bowl on January 19, in their first Australian tour since 2002.
Tickets go on sale November 9. Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora promised the show -- the band's only date in Melbourne -- would mix the group's biggest hits including Livin' on a Prayer, Bad Medicine, It's My Life and Always with the Nashville-tinged tunes from their latest album, Lost Highway. "We've rehearsed 73 songs," Sambora said. "The set list will change every night." No support act has been announced; however, the band are hand-picking openers for their world tour. http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sto...rom=public_rss |
Nice!
This makes me happy for the Australian fans, cause they've waited a long time...Enjoy! |

BON JOVI ANNOUNCE LOST HIGHWAY AUSTRALIAN TOUR
BON JOVI’s Lost Highway Tour is coming to Australia. The tour confirmation follows on from last week’s world-wide tour announcement Jon Bon Jovi made on stage at the grand opening of the Prudential Center in his home state of New Jersey. Anticipation is running at an all time high as concerts in more than 10 countries have already been confirmed including Canada, the U.S., Japan, New Zealand, England, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Holland, Austria and now Australia. The legendary band will tour Australia in January, playing Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Saturday 19th January, Sydney’s Acer Arena on Monday 21st January and Perth’s Subiaco Oval on Friday 25th January (Australia Day Eve). This is Bon Jovi’s first Australian tour since 1995. Tickets to the Lost Highway Tour go on sale on Thursday 15th November at 9am. The tour celebrates the release of Bon Jovi’s 10th studio album, the Nashville-inspired Lost Highway, which entered the Australian charts at number five, and went to number one in the US, Japan, Canada and Germany and includes the hit songs “Lost Highway” and “(You Want To) Make a Memory.” Bon Jovi has set the bar for more than two decades as one of the most successful rock bands in the world. Globally they have sold more than 120 millions albums, played more than 2500 shows in 50 countries for 32 million people. In Australia alone they have had 30 hits in the Top 40 and six Bon Jovi albums have topped the Australian charts. Bon Jovi has established themselves as one of the world's most dynamic live rock acts by delivering their fans dynamic performances and the best tour production imaginable. This tour will be no different! For More Information on BON JOVI go to www.bonjovi.com and www.backstagejbj.com Source: http://www.dcegroup.com/events2008/bonjovi.shtml |

Congrats to every BJ fan downunder, you truly deserve those shows.
Just wondering, why are they playing a comparably small arena in a huge city like Sidney and a 40 000+ stadium in a place like perth? |
Quote:
Subiaco -well there's a thought that maybe they decided to play Perth because in 1995 the show there was cancelled while they were here due to Tico's tendonitis flaring up...maybe that's why Perth gets a guernsey - last time Perth saw them was in 1993 - though I'd have thought, with it potentially being very hot [and Perth's summer is very hot] they would have played somewhere like the Burswood Dome - comparatively the same in many respects to the Acer Arena in Sydney. The other thing that is a bit strange is they come to Oz from japan - play Melbourne, fly up to Sydney, then fly pretty much across the country to Perth - then fly all the way back and then some to Christchurch...fair bit off crisscrossing there.
