Bon Jovi - Rock In Rio?

Aloha !

Since they've been asked to do that festival twice now, there's a good chance they'll do it now. It's always in June, and they're in Barcelona, Spain on the second of June, I think they'll do it this time. Any thoughts?

And where wold that fit in? They do have a pretty tight schedule in june...
I would like for them to do it, but I cant see it happening.

The schedule would allow for it, and like seb says, they've been asked twice, so yeah they'll do it. May be a bit...lacklustre to save for other BJ shows

Rock In Rio is always broadcasted on TV, and they will headline for sure. So if they'd save up for other shows it would result in a poor TV show. Also, the crowds at Rock In Rio are immense, so that should get them fired up, don't you think?

Possibly off-topic, but I cant believe they are touring that many countries this time with a record that was written entirelx for the us market...they must have a GH in the pipe.

Country In Rio ?

I don't care at all.

Things changed, BJ is not rock anymore and Rock in Rio is not even in Rio anymore !

It's not? What's the point of calling it that then? And I agree about BJ.

Is it wrong for me to hope that if they do play this show, they'll be motivated enough to actually rock?

Well on here - http://bonjovi.aeglive.com/vcard/ - if you go to Tourdates there is a scrolling list of cities behind them, and Lisbon is on there

I know it sounds odd of them having moved the festival to Lisboa, but it's simply because the travelling to a festival in South America was the motivation for a lot of bands to say no the a request of playing. It's simply too expensive for most bands, which is why Bon Jovi and many other bands refuse to play there. It's just a pity it's so far away and cost me too much, or I'd happily exchange my London trip for a trip to Portugal. :)

And most of Rock In Rio is broadcasted too, so this will mean Bon Jovi can't get away with a lazy performance too, they'll have to play a good set, since they'll probably headlining it too, together with Iron Maiden (who are already confirmed to play there).

Sebastiaan
