Best Lyrics Ever !!!!!!
Opposite to recent negative posts, BJ have produced some great lyrics , so what do you think are their best lyrics ?
I think this is my favorite all time lyric as its very clever as well as sounding good.... Bed of Roses With an ironclad fist I wake up and French kiss the morning What do you think are BJ best lyrics ? Dawn |
Right off the bat, I think "Wanted Dead Or Alive" is great lyrically.
I could put all of the lyrics but I think it's safe to say that would be a waste of time. I just think the entire song as a metaphor is great. |
Some of my favourite lyrics are also from Bed of Roses;
"About all of those things that I long to believe, about love, the truth, and what you mean to me, and the truth is, baby you're all that I need" |
bed of roses lyrics cool...
in these arms: your clothes are still scattered all over our room this whole place still smells like your cheap perfum... |
Jimmy shoes busted both his legs, trying to learn to fly
From a second story window, he just jumped and closed his eyes His mamma said he was crazy - he said mamma "I've got to try" Don't you know that all my heroes died And I guess I'd rather die than fade away I do however think that BoR is the best song lyrically overall. Its a long time since they pulled of any genius in terms of lyrics. |

Agree 100%... that whole song is a work of art. |
80s: Runaway
90s: Dry County 00s: Last Man Standing |
I found this difficult because in the 90s, there were too many from which to choose.
80's: "Blood on Blood" speaks to me on a personal level, so even though I love "Wanted," I choose "Blood on Blood." "Through the years and miles between us It's been a long and lonely ride But if I got that call in the dead of the night I'd be right by your side" 90's: I was hard-pressed to decide between my favorite part of "Dry County," "These Days," and "Something to Believe in." "If there's nothing but survival, how can I believe in sin? In a world that gives you nothing, we need something to believe in." 00's: I'm surprised I decided on "The Distance" for post 2000. "There's a thread that runs between us pulling 'cross this great divide It's only there for the believers Don't stop believing, don't stop believing" . . . |

"Bed Of Roses" has their best song lyrics I would say. If I would start quoting I'd have to quote the whole song. But lines like
"As I dream about movies they won't make of me when I'm dead" or "a king's ransom in dimes I'd give each night to see through this payphone" are amongst the deepest lines Jon came up with. The whole KTF album is full of clever lyrics, my favourites being "If I Was Your Mother" and "Dry County". Other songs I admire for their lyrics are - I'd Die For You - Wanted - I'll Be There For You - Blood On Blood - (It's Hard) Letting You Go - My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arms - Damned - Something To Believe In - (Queen Of New Orleans) - Say It Isn't So - One Wild Night - Last Man Standing - Novocaine I have to say that in the 1990s they had their heyday writing good and honest songlyrics. |
