I'm loving "Living In The Future" right now.
Damn, is that an awesome song.

bjcrazycpa 10-10-2007 01:18 PM

Well, Magic is the top seller this week according to hitsdailydouble with about 327K sold.

That is one of my favourites too along with Gypsy Biker.

So far, this is the album of the year for me! Love it.

Finally, got my CD today and I sooo love that presentation. It very much fits the pictures' kinda sepia/old (e.g. vulnerable) colouring, and the pictures on their own - they are fantastic!!! This is a very well done presentation in my eyes, in a row with Devils & Dust's.

I really like it too, although when I took it up to the counter, the stupid lady took the booklet out for some unknown reason and then it took her 10 minutes to get it back in.

wolfgang 10-11-2007 04:24 AM

Livin' in the Future is so catchy

Kathleen 10-11-2007 06:54 AM

We got a setlist to die for tonight folks - this is how it's done properly. Completely different from last night - AND we got Incident - which makes us Bruce fans as happy as Dry County makes us Bon Jovi fans. There were several tour premiers and a few that he hasn't played forever. At least I'm aware of how spoiled we are here and I try not to take it fro granted.

Crushgen24/88 10-11-2007 07:05 AM

Hey Kathleen, I know this an odd question, but what were the merchandise prices like?

asok80 10-11-2007 07:15 AM

I saw the setlist Kathleen and it looked super-great! We are spoilt we Bruce fans aren't we? :-0

Kev 10-11-2007 08:00 AM

Has Jungleland been played at any shows so far on the Magic tour?

No:(
I've been looking for it on everysetlist, every night.
Not that the setlist haven't been good, don't get me wrong....but I really want Jungleland..

Kathleen 10-11-2007 05:12 PM

Well - in the cold light of day - last night's show was as close to a religious experience as I will ever get. The man never fails to exceed my expectations (still - after all these years).

The merchandise stuff Brian was around $35.00 per t-shirt with some stuff more expensive. It's about the going rate these days from what I can tell.

And no - Jungleland has not been played on this tour yet. However considering that the tour just started on Oct.2 and last night was the 10th - give it some time LOL. I am hopeful that it might be played in Manhattan next week - it is, after all, nominally about the Rangers :) If it doesn't get played at all it might be due to Clarence not being able to deal with that long, complicated sax solo anymore. However, Clarence is sounding better and better - which tends to happen as the tour rolls on - so I think there is hope.

Are there health worries I should know about or just general ageing?

BeExcellent 10-12-2007 12:40 AM

And also, have the E-street members recorded anything worth checking out with people other than Brooooce?

Apart from Bat out of Hell, obviously.

Clarence had a double hip replacement during the Rising tour. He could barely walk off the stage. He had to sit except when he actually played. If the gossip I hear is true - he is much better. Certainly he could stand (and even rock a little) during the show last night which is a good sign.

Kathleen 10-12-2007 04:49 PM

My version of the concert on 2007-10-10 is now up on dime if anyone wants to hear it.

asok80 10-13-2007 09:19 PM

The only album I'm aware of is an Ian Hunter album that he recorded at the in New York with some of the E-streeters in 1979/80 if I remember correctly. The whole album has the E-street vibe to it.

There was an album with Ronnie Spector - at least I think it was an album - I have a bootleg with her and various E St Band members.

Shaz 10-14-2007 10:15 AM

Hoping like hell they come to Australia. Loving this album...really love "Girls in Their Summer Clothes" and "You'll be Coming Down".

Damn shame dime aren't taking any new members at the moment.
C'est la vie...I waited 25 years to see them...I can wait a bit longer to see them again.

A few very good proshot vids from NJ at youtube:
Radio Nowhere
Night
Lonesome Day

and this link:
http://www.youtube.com/user/cgb77
has got heaps.

just watching these, and I'm thinking it must be a tremendous buzz to see Springsteen and the E Street in NJ!

Sh!t hot eh!!!!

I tell you Kev...this is THE concert experience...seeing this band live is almost a religious experience.

Shaz 10-14-2007 12:34 PM

Kathleen...do you know if there is a good quality recording out there anywhere of Brisbane, March 25, 2003 [I was there...Thunder Road and Jungleland both in the one show..heaven]

:) Where they broadcast on TV? I'm still debating the 'live experience'. The fact that there are no local shows doesn't help (Says the guy whop is travelling 3500 miles to see BJ in NJ next week ;) )

I think they were Kev...Kathleen will know.
Isn't there a Springsteen gig on Dec., 19th. London?

I didn't travel quite as far as you are to see Jovi [have a great time btw], but near enough...went to Brisbane from Adelaide to see the band in 2003 [The Rising tour] I'm not one to go off at the mouth about gigs [it's all pretty much a personal perspective for each individual] but have to say, unreservedly, the Springsteen show that night was THE BEST CONCERT I have ever been to..really, it was. What a night...Thunder Road AND Jungleland on the same set list [not withstanding it gave us the excuse to have a 16 day holiday on the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast :)]

S.

btw: you know a mate of mine [in Sheffield] so it seems.

Yeah there is London, but London is a 5 hour coach journey or a 3.5 hour train journey and if thats too see a artist I'm still not 100% sure on... it seems like a expensive trip with train fares and hotels that would be needed as it's so far away. If they were to announce say Manchester (Only one hour away) I would definately be looking at getting tickets.

Friend from Sheffield? Please, tell me more! :)

Shaz 10-14-2007 01:53 PM

Wow...long way to travel then. I look at a map of the UK and think everything must be relatively close, but that's probably because I live on this massive island and the closet capital city to me is an 8 hour drive [Adelaide to Melbourne]. I hope they do [a show in Manchester] because you will not regret it. And if you went and did, I'd think about refunding you the cost of the ticket...or have Kathleen arrange for you to be certified :)

My mate in Sheffield is Carol...you know her?

asok80 10-14-2007 02:00 PM

Yeah three first songs were broadcast on TV on Oct 10.

Yeah pretty far. Most places within the UK are pretty accessible, but they can still take quite a while to get to. Well Kathleen still believes more shows will be added, so one can only hope. Liverpool are finally getting an arena built as we speak (In fact it opens in January) so you never know, I may even end up getting a hometown show. I won't hold my breath too much for that though! EVERYONE tells me that I won't regret going to a show and I am being very much warmed to the idea, but I'm still that little unsure. Like I said, I'd like to see Bruce locally so I can make my mind up without it costing an arm and a leg! Kathleen already has plans for Carli and I to watch The NY dvd the moment we arrive in Jersey. She will probably already have the dvd in the player before shes given me a ****in beer! :p  LOL Just kidding.

Ah sure, I know Carol. Well I've known her through the internet since 2001, we don't speak all that often these days though but I do know her. I was stood in the middle of the GC at Milton Keynes when someone came over to me and goes 'Your Kev aren't you?' And I was like 'Yeahhhh, how do you know that?' LOL. Then she told me who she was, so it was great to finally meet her. Shes very nice indeed. I think I also spoke to her at the infamous Hull show too.

Yes...she is...have known her for 7 years now...one of my best mates...that I've never met. The UK is a LONG way from Oz...one of these days we might get to a Jovi gig together, x-lotto willing that is :)

I have this sneaking feeling that you will be convinced once you get back. :)

Have a great trip Kev...I do envy you.

Yes - the first 3 songs were broadcast on TV from night 2 (Oct 10th). I have 'em :)

OK - I see someone already answered that question.

Shaz - I'll check and see if anything from Brisbane is available - it might be.

Crushgen24/88 10-14-2007 10:35 PM

I've been listenin to some much Springsteen this past week.
Im still liking Magic, especially the title track, Radio Nowhere, Girls In Their Summer Clothes, and most of all the brilliant Livin In The Future.
I'm so psyched for Thursday.

Crushgen24/88 10-17-2007 12:56 PM

The two Canadian setlists looked really good, esp. haveing the tour premier of Backstreets.

That they did - and we Bruce fans are spoiled. The taped shows are usually up the next day sometime, so we can live vicariously.

But tonight it's MSG #1 and I'm really looking forward to it. There is just something about the New York audiences that are a bit more intense and they bring out the best in Bruce.

BTW - Mike and the Mad Dog were talking about hearing Jungleland at the MSG shows yesterday. I heard that it was soundchecked one of the nights in Canada. Keeping my fingers crossed :)

I would DIE.
I haven't watched/listened to Mike and The Mad Dog since last week (for obvious reasons) so I missed that.

Mr Bluesman 10-18-2007 06:48 PM

Got my copy of Magic today, a bit late unfortunately but I would like to add my 2 cents. Had my first listen and so far all I can say is 'ace'! So many top tracks, great catchy hooks, solid rock n roll. I'm very impressed and pleased with what I'm hearing.

Mr Bluesman 10-18-2007 07:33 PM

And **** me! How good is Devil's Arcade!?

Yvonne 10-19-2007 01:34 AM

i'm not a big bruce fan but have bought Magic... think its a decent album... anyone have any recommendations to anymore of his material??

Well Brian - are you dead yet????

We got Meeting Across the River right into Jungleland. My god - what a show. The electricity in the garden was high voltage.

Last night we got Backstreets. I got Incident in New Jersey - doesn't get much better than that :)
