Note to Seb....
Seb-I read thru some of your recent posts and some others who are closer in age to you. You are my sons age so I can understand your feelings about the place Jovi is at right now. My son likes the old stuff-SWW and NJ etc.
I'm curious how you became a Jovi fan? Was it Crush? Or Bounce? I would not think it was the Crush album. I just edited this as I noticed as i went thru different threads most of you are in your 20's and 30's. So this thread would be for the ones in their 20's. I thought Seb was the minority. So i really am wondering how all of you became fans? And I can see how many of the younger fans would not like the LH album. |
pm.............?

I thought of a PM but then I would think many new people coming into the boards here may be interested in his perspective also. if not i'll delete this-don't really care.

Listen to me and you learn something from me every day, a very wise man from Canada once said, and you can't disagree with him, because he's been right about these things just as many times I was right about these things. Quote:
The first show in Amsterdam from the One Wild Night Tour was the first show I attended, and I got 2 rare songs that night too. Hey God and Something To Believe In, which went over really well and still proves my theories about how the band can easily play more songs from that album. After the concert I started collecting more and more stuff, but at the same time found out that this band wasn't what it used to be. Still, nowadays I wish this band was still as good as they were in 2001. Quote:

Well, for me it is easy. I saw Jon Bon Jovi perform in Moonlight and Valentino and imediately realized I was in love. Ever since I built up a huge collection of Jon posters and pictures. I even bought his music so I could hear his voice and later the DVD's of other movies like Vampires or U-571. I love every single one of his movies and every single one of his songs. He is just amazing. This even led to my decision to join the fanclub and meet other people like me. When Jon shakes his ass during live shows, I almost feel like crying. It is always something like an epiphany for me. You are right about me not liking Lost Highway. Although Jon sounds better than ever, live he sometimes looks like flirting with that violin woman and I am simply to jealous to take it. But then I go to bed and he always appears in my dreams, and then he is just mine...
Oh, and I am in my 20s as well by the way. |

I'm 26, and I became a fan through Always in 94. Bought Crossroad on tape. Loved it, then These Days was the soundtrack to my paper round!!

I'm really suprised by Seb, didn't see them until 2001? I would've swear you were around during the TD period when I was still in my BJ meeting period but apparantly I was wrong.
Anyway, I was 12 when KTF was released loved it on MTV, bought the single In these Arms and just about or something later the Unplugged DVD and was in love. At that time I lived with 3 sisters (incl myself & all in puberty, still have pity for my mom) and my mother and only heard Madonna & The bangles from my sisters, damn If I was your mother was the hardest thing I ever heard... Went to a show that tour and travelled around for the TD tour (saw 14 gigs then) and was hooked untill Crush, that album + the 3 shows I went to that tour were dissapointing to me. I still get shivers when seeing a 93 or 95/96 show (even older shows) but just can't watch or listen to a full show after 2000 except one.... but I still consider myself a BJ fan. I don't think Seb is in the minority if you mean as someone who became a fan in the 90's. Lets face it, the ones that became a fan in the early 80's either died or are a grandmother/father now. THe ones that became fans in the 00's never ''lived'' what happened in the 80's or 90's and therefore never get what some (the anti 00's) are saying as they don't have a real comparising, and you notice they have way different standards. The ones in the 90's can go either way, the were too young for the 80's but therefore aren't a grandmother/fater or are still alive. I kinda believe they either love or hate the 00's. I saw many go stick by BJ during 97-00 period (td --> crush) but hooked off after crush or either bounce, so I guess the anti-00's are in minority but should be heard because there are more out there.... Edit: Ooh and I hated Always back then, I wanted everybody to hear Saturday Night but no-one was interested, school & sisters..... I was really frustrated by that, lol aah youth |
