Bon Jovi's Biggest Missed Single:

Of all the BJ album tracks, what're the ones that you think should've been singles. (And please, not just tracks you like, but tracks that you think could've been hits (Whether major hits, or even minor))

I'd Die For You
Wild is The Wind
Damned
Just Older
Undivided
The Distance
Novacaine

Those are just a few IMO.

I'll concentrate on post-2000 specifically, since that's basically a catastro****.

Just Older
Undivided
Last Man Standing

and most recently...

Any Other Day. Simply stunning how Jon has shunned this song totally. Why would he? He knew it was getting indications of being a big hit, Richie loved it, it was awesome live. Why was it never considered for a single (never mind the fact they seemed to have taken it out of the sets)? I don't even think it's because Jon dislikes it, because he's not stupid: if a song has business potential, he'd go for it. The answer is far more obvious: he has trouble singing it.

Shame.

Jon doesn't like, he didn't want to put it on the album but it's there because the band liked it so much.

As far as I know, it WAS considered for a single.

Oh, I recall him saying he disliked it, but the man isn't stupid; he's shrewd enough to know if a song would be a hit, he'd go with it. But on the same hand, it's clear he struggles to sing it live. The DVD showed that (and it's also probably why they've been slowing the song down since O2, and why it never gets played).

Either way, a shame. Even if it was considered, the fact they chose the title song instead (and now Strangers) is worse.

The man didn't want Prayer on Slippery either. He really doesn't have a clue what would be a hit and what wouldn't. He thought Everyday and Welcome To Wherever You Are would be massive singles, and although Everyday did well, it wasn't anything like It's My Life, which he thought it'd be.

My guess would be more that he hasn't performed it enough to be really comfortable with singing it, rather than him having trouble singing it, it's well within his voice range and for once all the songs recorded for LH were done in a key he is perfectly able to sing.

I would further guess that it has been held back until another leg of the tour, probably Europe, maybe the stadium run next summer in the US so the sets are not all the same through out the tour.

As for him not liking it, Jon's personal favorites on any record are very often not the songs that fans like most, that is nothing new.

No it's not that. He really sounds shit on every recording of the song so far.

I think they should have released Raise Your Hands, the one that's on the Live From The HAND Tour CD and on the HAND Japanese Tour Edition (recorded live on 10th December 2005 @ Boston, MA). All my co-workers think it's a perfect song and ask me who sings it (some don't know Bon Jovi that well so don't recognize the vocals) even my GF who don't like Bon Jovi, loves it and wonders why the song has never been released.
I'm talking about the live version (and it doesn't really have to be the boston 2005 performance, could be some other, but it's the one I listened mostly to in the last year or so) because it could be released anytime in the future, they don't need to release the studio version, I believe they could still do it...

Mystery Train
Livin' On A Prayer (live from One Wild Night - think a re-release of this would have done the business)
The Distance (definitely would have been a hit)
Novocaine (again, one of the best Jovi songs in years)
Whole Lot Of Leaving or Any Other Day (either song far better than the single choices so far - though MAM I think is good, just no promotion)

Oops - did I miss out something for TLFR - uhm, no, probably best they didn't release a single from that...lol
