What kind of strings does Richie use?

Ugh I'm having trouble trying to find the answer here, what type of electric guitar strings does Richie typically use? I recall seeing ads with him for GHS boomers maybe, but what gauge? I'm getting my guitar restrung and figured I'd give it a try.

You shouldn't get strings just because someone uses them. Each player is different, each has to play the strings that fit his style. If Richie played a .12 set, you'd be in really big trouble just trying to do a simple bend.

I'm pretty sure he uses .10's, but I have no fact to back that up.

Oh yeah? I know so little about guitar strings and what kind are good/bad. I tend to just...not change my strings often. Which isn't good, obviously, haha. Thanks for the help.

Richie:"I like a little fight, so I’m playing with .010s and they’re set up a little bit high off the fingerboard. When I’m playing live, I get out there and I have all this adrenaline, so I like a bit more tension on the strings. But when I’m in the studio, I play with .009s and because it’s about having a little more of a finesse deal."

Richie has a page on wikipedia, I know it's not that reliable but it does give some info on his set up.
It has the same thing rumen posted, 10's to play live and 9's in the studio.

Me? doesn't matter what Richie uses I never go above nines, and I like to use 8's on my strat. and the action low, don't know why Richie has the action set so high.

I couldn't play with .8's, I'd break them all the time. .9's last me about a day or two. So I always use .10's. I play way too hard for anything thinner.

And high action is a lot better for rhythm and if you have strength in your fingers, it's not that tough playing solos either.

really?
Interesting, I play mainly rythm and always feel more comfortable with the guitar set with a low action. Though I do break strings, it's not really that big a deal and it's not that often that I restring them, I do know however for some reason that the .10's I had to restring less often than the .09's.

My brother says GHS strings rock. They last long, they keep their tone, etc... but it all depends on what you play.

If you have a strat Fender Super Bullets are good too...

They work on any Floyd Rose guitar, but I find that they lose their "chime" pretty quickly. They do stay in tune better.
