Red, Green ..... and Grey??

I'm confused, green = online, red = offline, grey = huh? is there something in between online & offline which I totally missed the last few years?? Its not the 'invisible' status

All this confusment takes his toll, I need beers. I hope there will be an answer when I come back tonight so I can sleep....

Green is Online
Gray is Offline
Red is hidden/Invisible

At least thats what I thought.

Well moderators can see EVERYONE who are online, so maybe it's slightly different for us ;)

Yes Kev, we know you got priviliges

Its not invisible tho, sometimes I can see people being online (at mainpage) yet being grey (sometimes - yourself being a good example). And myself being red while I'm hidden. Well I hope you got confused now as well....

Yup, you sure did.... :)

You're marked as invisible, TD. Red = online + invisible, so you see yourself as Red. You probably see me as gray right now because I'm online + invisible. Or so I think. I may be just as confused as you and Kev. ;)

Your more confused then we are :) - So bot gray & red are online + invisible, where red is never online is it. If you ment red being offline & invisible and grey online & invisible then there is no use for being invisible as it still shows when your online, only gray except green. (and it still doesn't explain why Kev is gray as he's not on invisible mode)
There must be someone who figured this out - or someone who ****ed up...

The way I see it is:

Green = Online and visible to everyone

Grey = Offline

Red = You are online, but invisible, you will appear as grey to everyone else.
Only you will see the red dot displayed next to your own name.

Ah yeah that must be it and it actually the same as Becky said.
Another mystery solved....

Sometimes it's best in the sense of not having people troubling you over things. I've had n00bs who've obviously seen me online and contacted me by PM, or on MSN (until I removed that from my profile) so I sometimes set myself to invisible.
