Yah, I'd say not good at all. The odds of the band associating themselves with anyone from that genre/decade ain't good.

I'm not posting this to be mean-spiritied, but I saw them open for Bon Jovi in 1993. They were one of the worst live acts I've ever seen! In fact, I considered them the absolute worst until I saw the Goo Goo Dolls open for Bon Jovi in 2003 when they were so high/drunk they could barely stand. I still remember Extreme playing some new song and Gary said to the audience, "This is for all the Extreme fans out there... if there are any." LOL They must've gotten their act together since that point if they've become a good live band. After seeing them live, I never listened to them again. I had expected them to be much better.

Is it the original members who have rejoined? I remember there was this VH1 show on a couple years ago called Bands Reunited and Extreme was one of the bands featured. But their show never had them perform because the band members hated each other and it didn't pan out.

Anyway..

I just looked into my crystal ball and I don't see Extreme and Bon Jovi on the same bill in 2008.....

The reunion lineup is 3/4 of the original, tho I can't remember whether it's Pat Badger or Paul Geary that will be missing.

And it does hurt me to say this, but they did dissapoint the two times I saw them. Donington '94 they were ignored comically. A bottle fight was of far greater interest to the audience, much to the annoyance of the band. They were visibly pissed off the entire show. Mind you kinda inevitable when they came on straight after Sepultura and Pantera and had talked themselves up as being the Heaviest Band of the festival. Seriously.

Their headline show of the III Sides tour just wasn't coherent enough. The artsy funk of that album didn't sit at all well with the earlier classic rock and they were way too prone to noodly, aimless jams and endless guitar/drum solos.

It's still a private fantasy of mine though to see III Sides performed live in its entirity. There is such a special atmosphere around that album.

A BJ support would seem unlikely, given Jovi's tendency these days to pick MOR bands they can easily blow off stage.

They've done a few shows already over the last 2 or 3 years, mostly in Japan and Boston. I've a dvd boot of a Boston radio promo show and it's actually pretty good - Gary especially is looking older (balder), but they played well and kept their focus over a 60 minute set.
