Madison Square Garden on the HAND tour

So which night was better??
I know the sets are nearly identical so I won't bother getting both of 'em, so I just wanted to know, in terms of the quality of the show and the bands performance which of the 2 nights is better?

Also, which night has the better quality bootleg?

Now, I'm not asking for a link so don't delete this, just opinions as to which night was the better show.
Thanks.

Aloha !

Both nights were taped by the same person if I remember correct, so both bootlegs are just as good. I think one of them is incomplete though, I'm sure Kathleen can tell you more. :)

Night 2 is a bit better though, it has a slightly better flow but still both nights were merely "okay" than really spectaculair.

Just compare the screenshots on Don's website:

Night 2 would be better because night 1 had a screen outtage for quite a few songs. They had major technical difficulties I guess. The same person did film both those shows - the same guy that filmed the last Giants show in 2006 and he did a great job of filming the digital screen. The DVD from night 1 uses footage from night 2 to patch (which is about all he could have done).

Dons comment on night 2 is:

The best quality audience recording I have ever seen. This is due to the combination of excellent quality DV equipment on the filmer and high resolution screen they are using this tour.

So night 2 is the one to get.

As another note - night 2 is when Richie cut a finger (his thumb?) badly somehow and bled all over his nice white guitar - it was quite a sight to see. All the concerts that I've been to, that was something I had never seen.

Not to mention the crowd being incredible and pretty much drowning the band out, especially during Prayer!

I remember the crowd being just as loud the first night though. Madison Square Garden is always like that (it seems). The recent Bruce concerts there were over the top too - especially if you compared them to the New Jersey shows. Similar setlists but a much more enthusiastic crowd in New York.

Richie cut his finger open doing the Pete Townsend "windmill" move during the outro of HAND. ;)

The way it was bleeding all over the place, it must have f**king hurt like hell when he did it - I think he caught it on the bridge of his doubleneck tele.

All I know is I was front row for that show and man oh man, was he bleeding but he soldiered on and kept playing but the blood was splattering, lol!

I read (somewhere) that the shows after that gave him a problem for a while since it continued to hurt. It wasn't just a superficial cut.

I wasn't front row like Deb but I was very close to the front and yeah - it was a bloodbath LOL.

Great DVD Javier - you're gonna love it :p
