Jon's voice

I know this has been said before but why does Jon struggle with some of the easier songs to sing?

I have seen the recent footage posted and some of the faces he has to pull to reach some quite easy notes really suprised me. Is he just lavy or does he have a real problem? It's almost painfull to watch when he tries to reach a higher note.

I don't think it's struggle as much as concentration but then again, I'm not Jon and not a singer. I actually think it's a confidence issue more than anything and sometimes he himself doesn't think he can hit high notes so.....

I really dont think people give Jon as much credit as he deserve's.... he's got a great voice and a really impressive vocal range in my opinion....it isnt anywhere near as good as his voice used to be bt that was freakish when you look at some of notes he was reaching.... like how many of us could sing songs like Make A Memory and Any Other Day perfectly... i ****ing cant and i'm not an awful singer...he deserve's more credit...

i disagree.... i think he can pull it off and more times than not does pull it off!

He was simply in a different league in the past and far superior...i still think he is a great front man tho these days when you compare him to other front men from today...

Yeah his voice isn't as good as what it used to be, but i still think its good.
His voice used to be amazing! Just listen to "Always" his voice will never be like that again, but the way he pulls of "Make a Memory" now is still good and he can still sing.
When he does them faces, it might just be that he is nervous incase he doesn't him them high notes anymore. I think he just needs a bit more faith in himself and then maybe he will pull high notes off without doing weird faces

He should quit smoking IMO. Freddie Mercury stopped smoking when he got ill and delivered the best vocal performance of Queen on the "Innuendo" album shortly before his death. I think that would help. He is an artist and the voice is his intrument - so why intentionally hurting it by smoking. Cannot understand !!!

Totally agree with you

He seems to be struggling more and more from the footage I've seen from this tour. If you watch some of the performances of Blood on Blood on youtube, he looks like he's making very hard work of it!

Melbourne BOB:

Sydney BOB:

Even Richie is singing the backing ("So young") an octave lower now - although he did this sometimes on previous tours too, even as far back as the Bounce shows.

He is still a great singer though even if he isn't quite as phenomenal as he used to be.
