old school bon jovi trivia
Transfered a bunch of 1984-1986 video footage from VHS to DVD today and in listening to the old clips ran across a bunch of fun (to me at least) trivia and thought I would share.
1.) On tour with the Scorpions in Japan in 1984 Alec dropped fistfuls of large cockroaches onto the Scorpions from above the stage. 2.) On tour with Kiss in Japan in 1985 Jon and Alec dropped 3000 ping pong balls onto Kiss from above the stage. 3.) Jon bought the jeans he wore in the Bad Name video at a second hand store for $10.00, they were previously owned by one of the members of Earth , Wind and Fire. 4.) Jon announced the title iof the 2nd Bon JOvi album as 7048. He said it was the temperature at which rock melted. Later they changed the name to 7800 degrees fahrenheit and claimed that was around the temperature at the center of a volcano. 5.) Jon worked, played and sang on Aldo Nova's record Twitch according to a Jon interview, but I didn't find him anywhere in the credits. 6.) At Farm Aid 2 in addition to the songs Jon sang with Willie Nelson, VInce Neil and Joe Walsh that everybody knows about he also sang Amazing Grace with willie, Kris Kristopherson and some old lady. 7.) During the day they were guest VJs on MTV in 1986 they played a bunch of snippets of other bands songs live in the studio and began the show naked in the shower together. 8.) JOn was offered acting roles as far back as 1985 after the release of the Only Lonely video. Jovi Fun Dave |
Ha ha, some of that is too funny. Thanks Dave for passing on some of that old trivia.

I love that old stuff. Tranferring video tapes to DVD is on my "to do" list... you know, the one of things that never gets done. It's just overwhelming. I believe I've seen all these clips though. I actually enjoyed the Amazing Grace performance. I liked it better than most of the others the group of singers did.

Cool historical info - do you know who the "old lady" was that they sang Amazing Grace with? Somehow Willie and Kris Kristofferson got remembered. I kind of remember this but it's very fuzzy from that period of time - I had 6 year old kids.

As an interesting (?) addition:
Jon was asked after 7800 fahrenheit to be the leadsinger of one big(?) band, which band I'm talking about?? Ah who the **** cares, its CARNAVAL in the south of Holland and its 'go get drunk & have sex with a stranger tonight' so I'm off......(sorry Dawn) |

I agree Becky, overwhelming is just the begining. Hadn't ever heard of Carnavore, here in the states Carnivore was a precursor to Type O Negative. Dave |
