It was absolutely amazing!!!! The man can sing and is a true performer!! The way he worked the crowd.. the requests.. wow! I've seen him 3 times now but yesterday blew me away! Highlights were definitely The River, Lonesome Day, Darlington County, Because the Night and Summertime Blues - Someone really wanted that one, it was hillarious to see him and Steve van Zandt discuss which key to play it and see if they knew all the words.. not surprising since they haven't played it since 1982!!!! It was a brilliant show.. I'm still at a loss for words and have definitely become even more of a fan than I already was.. WOW!

superkid 06-24-2008 12:55 AM

I'm going to see Bruce at all 3 giants stadium shows at his hometown in NJ. It will be my 9,10, and 11 bruce shows. They are getting older, but you can't tell. they are amazing.

Yeah Bruce will do that to you Tash. I guess it's why I've been a fan since the seventies - no matter when I see him he (and the band) only seems to get better. I'm glad you enjoyed your show.

Well after 5 awesom BJ shows I'm trying to get into Bruce mood for Friday. Just read on Backstreets that Sirius is broadcasting the whole show from Gothenburg on 4th July!! Kathleen, will you be able to record this?? :-)

I just read this over on Greasy Lake - damn. No I don't pay for Sirius. My son might though and I'm gonna ask him.

It's rather strange going to intermingling Bruce and Bon Jovi shows. Last fall I started with 4 Bruce shows here in NJ in October - and then went to all Bon Jovi 10 Prudential shows - and then finished with 3 Bruce shows in Albany and Boston. After each show my husband and I would look at at each other and ask - Bruce or Bon Jovi? Last fall - Bruce won hands down - the Prudential shows were just not that good except for 2 of them.

So in a few weeks it will be Bon Jovi in Boston and New York and then Bruce at Giants. We'll see if Bon Jovi has improved enough to continue competing LOL.

Sleep-When-Im-Dead 06-30-2008 06:07 PM

Bruce is definatly on my list of people to see next time hes around...

Proteus 06-30-2008 07:31 PM

I saw Bruce live in Milan last week. It was probably the best concert I've ever seen. 29 songs for a 3 hours show.
As much as I love the E Street Band, I gotta say that Bruce stole the show this time. He was just crazy, he took banners from crowd and played some songs by request. It was mind blowing.
Many people think this is the last tour for Bruce and the band together and I guess it may be true. If this tour is a "goodbye", it's the best possible one!

hometownboy 06-30-2008 07:32 PM

Bruce played "for You" solo (just him on a piano ) the other night :D i don't know if this is a regulr thing he does but i'd love to see it.

I know I have the same feeling, Bruce or Jovi? Right now I'm on a Jovi high though after 5 great shows, getting my request played in Denmark (TAALS) and them playing Dry County, Lie to Me, I Believe!! etc. it's just amazing. BUT I know I'll be as teary-eyed on Friday when Bruce enters the stage here in Gothenburg and the audience will give them a greeting like noone's seen before. :-) and if he plays For you....I'll probably break down!

Are you going to both shows?

asok80 07-03-2008 12:04 AM

Absolutely! Would never miss a Bruce show in Sweden. :-)

Kathleen 07-03-2008 12:35 AM

I checked with my son and he no longer pays for the Sirius service :( He recently bought a house and moved out and now he has to worry about his budget too LOL.

I have never had it - so I only hope that someone does capture it and then shares it (somewhere).

Have a blast at the show - it should be monsterous good :D

I couldn't get tickets to the one on Friday. :(

Emil 07-04-2008 07:37 PM

Bruce just finished the soundcheck for tonight's show. Apparently he did Be True, Drive All Night, Independence Day and Born In The USA! Damn, I soooo wish I could go tonight as well.

jade4jovi 07-04-2008 07:49 PM

Have a brilliant time, Emil!! I'm jealous. :)

Emil 07-04-2008 10:05 PM

First song: Born In The USA.

Wow.

Wow.

Yeah - he practically NEVER starts with that one anymore. He did that once at all those 10 Giants concerts in 2003 and it was only at the first show - and it was Bruce acoustic only - not the whole band electric version.

According to the Greasy Lake pbp it was full band electric

It's nice to see Seven Nights to Rock back in the setlist too. It was one of his most successful covers in my opinion.

You can see a tv version posted on the net here:

1. Born in the USA (full band) http://gptv.gp.se/player/play/49667
2. Radio Nowhere http://gptv.gp.se/player/play/49669

I can only say one thing about tonight's show - DRIVE ALL NIGHT!

Holy Crapola Batman - last FULL BAND performance June 7th 1981 Birmingham, England

I can't wait until the Giants shows.

Crushgen24/88 07-06-2008 08:31 AM

Damn, I can't wait for that Giants show.
All I ask for is Thunder Road this time....

asok80 07-06-2008 12:44 PM

We got Thunder Road too! It was amazing!

We had heard them soundchecking Drive all night both days and we had a sign made that he took on Friday but didn't play so when he soundchecked it on Saturday we thought now we really got to get it and we did!!

Eastwick 07-07-2008 12:23 AM

I'm glad he rocked Sweden. I read he got amazing reviews :D
Unfortunately I don't get the chance to se him in Norway tomorrow and on Tuesday.
But this summer I can't complain about conserts ;)

However, norwegian television (NRK) made a little documentary about Bruce and his New Jersey roots. We got to see what life in New Jersey (Freehold, Asbury Park, The Stone Pony) is like. And his new neighbourhood, the millionaireneighbourhood. They showed (Jon) Bon Jovis house too.

They've just broadcasted it. I found out a little bit too late to post here. It will be broadcasted again Tuesday (8/7) 00:55 (this means it's technically Wednesday).
Channel: NRK 1
Maybe some of you swedes get the chance to see it :)

asok80 07-07-2008 02:12 PM

Don't have NRK unfortunately, Could you record it??

Neurotica80 07-08-2008 02:40 PM

Having watched the Full version of Born in the USA live......WOW. HE should def do that at every show, just for the intro alone, it sounded great!!!

Argh :( Sorry, I didn't see this before now. If it helps, I would have trouble recording it and putting it on the net. However....
THIS might help ya :D
http://www1.nrk.no/nett-tv/klipp/386768

Not sure if it works, because of the licence NRK has in Norway, like SVT in Sweden. You might not be possible to view from other countries than Norway, but atleast now as I gave you the link, you're halfway there. Now, all you gotta to is gove it a shot :p

Emil 07-12-2008 02:34 PM

It works just fine, thanks for posting!

asok80 07-12-2008 02:48 PM

It's very wierd 'cause I can't watch it I only get some other wierd film showing or something.
Aw well not a biggie.

Eastwick 07-12-2008 07:39 PM

Sorry, 'bout the bug, too bad I can't help you.

Crushgen24/88 07-14-2008 11:03 AM

So, did Bruce play a Christmas song on JULY 11 just for shits and giggles, or was there a special reason for pulling out SCICTT in Helsinki?
I'm really liking the recent Europe sets, and I hope that The Born In The USA tracks stick around for GIANTS. Hope they keep Rosalita and Hungry Heart as well, for that matter.
And WHOOT WHOOT for Mary's Place sticking around!

asok80 07-14-2008 05:26 PM

It several reasons I guess. I know he got some book or written story about Santa living in finland and whatnot and also there was a request sign!! for Santa Claus and he decided to play it!! Totally crazy, but that's Bruce right now. Looks like Hungry Heart is staying for the rest of the European tour anyways and Mary's place, don't know about BITUSA though.
