What is a Street Team ??
 

OK - so I may be behind the times on but what is a street team ??

Had an e-mail invite to join the BJB Street team - Clicked the link to see what is was .... only to find you have to join to read the detail !?!?!?

It's fans of a band/artist who promote the band, their records and tours. This can be done in various ways and after the email that went out in the last 24 hours I'd expect to see quite a few new signatures on JT as that's one way the Bon Jovi street team members are being asked to help.

Other street team activities could be as simple as requesting said band's records on radio stations to putting up posters, word of mouth recommendations etc...

It's a way for fans to feel more part of the 'band' and to help, and for the band to get a stack of advertising!

It's Bon Jovi going viral really. Signed up anyway :)

Trying to convince everyone at work to put the logo on their Facebook/Myspace/blog/website right now :mrgreen:

I just wondered the same thing ..... so we r signing up to pr for them.....

I remember the old days of the various street teams when Bounce was released .. each was given a different task, but I can't for the life of me think what any of them were ...

Yep, Paul, we'd get the emails from "Roxy". Same sort of tasks as far as posting messages on message boards, banners, etc. You could win signed posters and other stuff.

Wow - until you mentioned the name Roxy I had forgotten all about that. I remember my daughter had a banner on her website for awhile.

Alas, both the website and the banner are long gone LOL.

Yeah, you get asked to do things like this (see signature).

If I can get it appear in 20 different places, I get a signed CD.

Yes, I have got better things to do with my time.....!

Do we get paid for it?

So actually the recordcompany is saying, we don't want to spend money to market the band, but the band still wants to move on. Let the fans do it
