Is there anybody excited about going?
Apart from the odd message, all I ever read on here is "the setlist is so boring", "they can't sing" etc...... I for one am so excited about going to see them when they hit the UK and just wondered if there were ANY like minded people. I am beginning to wonder why I joined this board because I think there is way too much negativity going on. Anyway, I want this thread to be a happy one......
So, who's excited about seeing Bon Jovi live!! |
Aloha !
I can't say, really. Yes, I'll probably have a good time, but when looking at the setlists there's not that much that gets me excited. Also, when listening to the bootlegs it's obvious that within 10 years time Jon will be performing in an oxygen chamber. Out of 40 shows, 10 of them are interesting, spontaneous and fun, the rest is the band focussing on the auto-pilot and more of the same. And those nights are absolutely not worth €70,- per night. Someone who feels otherwise should start visiting other artists who charge less and offer more. In Europe it'll probably change a bit, but still. So far I'm glad I haven't bought tickets for more than 1 show. Salaam Aleikum, Sebastiaan |
I'm always excited about going to see them. I've never come away disappointed from a live show - there been 2 so-so concerts, and that's been it.
Whatever the set list, I know I'll enjoy myself when I'm there - and even if Jon struggles with his voice you probably won't notice it when you're in a stadium sized crowd. So yeah, I'm definitely still psyched - and I'm hoping the 2 shows I'm going to will be a blast!!!! People here are just hoping for something a bit more special from them - because we all know they can do it, and lets be honest, they don't have forever to keep blowing us away. The band should make each and every gig count - and maybe it just doesn't feel like they've been doing that, at least not to the fans who've seen them dozens of times over the years where they have made every show special. But I'm expecting to come away from each show like I normally do - saying "****ing hell, I forgot just how good they actually are." |

Very, very excited!! Trying to plan to get to some overseas shows but I'm not sure which ones yet.

I'll be at the shows in Chicago this weekend (providing the weather cooperates and lets me fly there), and I can't wait. Would I like a rarity or two? Of course, but I'm really not expecting that. I know I'll have a great time no matter what they play, and I'm hoping that I get to hear Richie do Stranger in this Town.

I am definately looking forward to the UK shows as always. As you say, the shows are a blast no matter if the setlist is static or whatever. What group's setlists are not that? Very few I feel. I wish they would do as Bruce usually does playing Stadiums, mixing it up a little more, especially after reading an interview where Jon states that he is bored with some songs but still plays them because the audience wants them!? huh? Why? If you're bored singing them, get rid of them I say!
Anyways...It'll be a blast I'm sure! |
I'm always psyched to see Bon Jovi. But the utter lack of diversity or simple enthusiasm in the setlists makes it kind of ho-hum. They're playing 2 nights at Mohegan Sun next month. In the past, I'd be going to both shows, no questions asked. Not any more. Bon Jovi shows have become so paint by the numbers, 1 is enough.

ask me again a week before the gig :D
