Question about past European shows
I was thinking about this last night for some odd reason. Forgive my ignorance, but do shows in Europe tend to start early or does the sun go down later than in the U.S.? I was watching some clips from Hyde Park and I believe, Germany, and the beginning of the shows are in complete daylight. Always wondered what the reason for that was.

Well they usually come here in the summer and quite often shows are in stadiums, so at 8pm it's still quite light.

The shows in the uk tend to start around 8.30 8.45 ish... I think its around the same time for the Europe shows too if i remember :)

It all depends if they're running to time, so its usually somewhere in the 8s they come on... the support comes on around 5.30 if theres 2 support acts and they run for about 45mins..

Aloha !
Hyde Park started extremely early at 7:30 because of the early curfew. Salaam Aleikum, Sebastiaan |

I prefer it when they come on in daylight and then it gets more atmoshpheric gradually as it gets darker (Dublin 2003 had a beautiful sunset behind the stage and a lovely clear night with loads of stars!). It just aint the same in an arena, seems alot more..controlled. You dont get killer thunder and lightning for starters!

To be fair I've been at Giants in downpours but the show went on - that time the lighning was threatening everyone in the upper tiers. |
