A little tidbit for the Aussies....
Hi there everyone....thought I would share this as I'm sure sure it might cause a little stir for those Down Under.
Over the course of attending all the Toronto shows I somehow became friends with the soundboard (very cool guy - I'll keep him anonymous just in case he gets PO'd that I posted this). I partied with him and the roadies after the Wednesday show (even though I had to work at 8:30 the next day how does one say 'no' to partying with the roadies???). Dave, Kenny, Odie, and even Tony Bon Jovi were out drinking and we had an awesome time at The Bovine (Toronto bar). He even hooked me up with VIP passes to hang at the soundboard for the last show (this was great as it saved me upgrading the crap seats that I had). After partying with the guys until 3:00 I had to pull the chute and head home.....part of me is thinking I should have called in sick, but it's too late for any of that now. Now to the point.....he happened to mention to me that they were thinking about returning to Australia on this tour. I know that it's nothing firm, but everything starts somewhere and this is coming from an inside source so to speak. So I'll let you guys start weighing my credibility and whatnot....but I am no rumour monger and I don't spin shit for no reason. My bud has even suggested that I road trip to another show so we could rip it up at the bars - I've been advised to call him so he can hook up a VIP for me at the show. It's amazing the benefits that can be reaped by a recognizable cowboy hat and an outgoing personality (without either one, I wouldn't have this story). Cheers everyone - this was surely one of the most surreal experiences of my life - Ciao, Mikey |
Sounds like you had a good time Mike. I have a friend in Australia who will be over the moon - even with an unverifiable tidbit. As you are not the sort who spread rumours here so I will pass this along to him just as you wrote it - he doesn't post here - he has dialup :(
He's a longtime fan who saw his first full show last month since 95 and he hasn't stopped talking about it yet. |
wow, thanks for the news, it would be awesome if it happens. considering jons feelings on returning to the US, and the fact that the AUD is almost 1:1 with the USD and that all the shows in oz were sold out with many missing out you could see why......

Aloha !
I knew this. They're trying to figure out what would be the best option after the European leg of this tour. Since a return to North America seems to be out of the question, the tour in Europe will be extended, but they're trying to figure out what would be the best thing to do next. Another tour in Canada, another tour in Australia, a tour thru Asia or maybe South America, although the latter seems to be out of the question for some reason. Salaam Aleikum, Sebastiaan |
You're right about the recognizable outfit... I've noticed you at the shows I've been to. I usually scan the crowd looking for people I know and it became "the dude with the hat's here again". :)
Noticed you at the soundboard as we were lining up to go on stage. Cool story! |
I can at least speak for the fact that everything Mikey says is true :)
Including the part where I said no to going out because it was too late....... Probably a really stupid decision lol. |

I won't let myself get excited but great story, thanks for sharing.:)

I'm going to try not to get my hopes up. I'm really going to try. But already I have the strongest urge to text some of my bon jovi mates....
Great story, thanks for sharing, let's hope it's true! |
Being the sound-tech nerd that I am, I would kill for a chance like that...
|
Sorry if this is getting old....but I'm still in a state of disbelief about everything.
As much as I go over it in my head - comprehending the reality of everything is taking longer than I thought. In a weird way I feel more connected to the band and their music now than I did prior to the last 3 shows. It's hard to explain - but it's a good feeling to have some of my enthusiasm for the band restored. Cheers everyone, Mikey |
They better come to Aussie between April and September. I'll be there and I hope they come down and play BOBITA in its full glory.

A mate of mine in Melbourne says she keeps hearing from different people that Bon Jovi might be doing 3 shows at Rod Laver Arena in November. Considering the end of the tour's already been announced and it wouldn't make sense to just come down for some random shows, I'm skeptical. Anyone heard anything like this or know where the rumour comes from?
|
Aloha !
It's because Bon Jovi themselves said they'd return to Japan, Australia & New Zealand after the shows in North America. Shortly after that they anounced that the shows in MSG would be the last of the tour. Who knows though. Salaam Aleikum, Sebastiaan |

hopes aren't high, but crossing my fingers just in case. |

After all, I'm pretty sure Jovi will never go to Perth again.:( |
New Tour
I think there's a good chance of a new tour after this, maybe greatest hits tour because after those rumours of touring australia and japan, some rumours surfaced here in europe exactly in eastern europe because some media and forums are writing of possible coming in september. I think it could be true because first information was that jovi will come to beograd on july, 14 but that's off and then some portals in serbia said jovi is coming in september, so it could be a new tour. At least I hope so, but we will see

Hiya
Again rumours, and i have only just found this thread - but i have seen written in the other web site forum that Bon Jovi have fallen in love with Cadbury chocolate and want to visit the factory and do a concert (which is in Tasmania) - so who knows - fingers, toes and eyes crossed! |
