What? Another setlist thread?

This isn't a dream setlist thread or debate on what we each personally want from a setlist, its a simple probability approach to the debate.

What gems are realistically possible for the band to pull out when they hit Europe? Whether that means realistic in the sense that they've pulled them out a few times already this tour or on a previous tour (eg. Diamond ring, Garage land, Dry County in Dublin, Living in Sin at MK etc) , or its easy for Jon to sing, or its been done in soundcheck or whatever. I don't want to be standing there with a sign saying ''play Breakout and Let it rock'' when I know theres no chance in hell of that happenning for example.

My predictions are based on little things we've picked up here and there, that show that either a song hasn't been forgotten by the band and that the interest still there or that the market may be different in different places around the world.

Little things like Richie playing a bit of Stick to your guns at the O2 soundcheck, to Jon and Richie both practising This Aint a love song with both American and Candadian Idol contestants recently, or Jon saying they want to play Hey God again (interview on Japanese tv during HAND tour), to Obie saying they did In and out of love at souncheck etc.

And did someone mention 'Its hard letting you go' recently? What was the basis of that prediction?

So, being realistic and considering its going to be the European leg - what are our chances?

A little bit of me still thinks they have it in them to totally surprise us, afterall Dry County did hit ALOT of us off guard last tour :-)

Obviously, anything they've already pulled out.
Dry County
This Ain't A Love Song (Don't know how it would sound)
These Days (JBJ Vox.)
With A Little Help From My Friends

I'd be happy hearing Damned, It's Hard (Letting You Go) - the basis of that was that they soundchecked it, and Dry County. Stick To Your Guns would be awesome, but don't think it will ever happen.

Dry County, Sin, Damned, Lettin You Go.

EDIT: Yeah slippery89, wild is the wind as well.

Wild is the wind, one wild night, In and out of love, hey god

Letting you go for me too. I just have this feeling they'll play it on the second night at Twickenham, don't know why. It's like at MK '06 (night 2) when you just knew that Wild in The Streets would come after Bad Name......

I don't understand all this '** has been soundchecked'; it hasn't, it's been rehearsed. A soundcheck is what you do at a venue before you play the gig to check the sound. Isn't it?

In addition to all of the 70-odd songs they've played so far, I'd say there is a possibility of the following (although some may be unfortunately slowed down or rearranged to cater for changes in Jon's voice since they last performed them):

- In and Out of Love
- Dry County
- Hey God
- This Ain't a Love Song
- These Days (JBJ vocals)
- Lie to Me
- (It's Hard) Letting You Go
- Undivided
- The Distance

Indeed, and both In & Out Of Love and Leting You Go have been heard being soundchecked before the gigs

i think europe will probably get. Damned, Hard Letting You Go, in and out of love,Dry county. And probably somthing out of the blue if were trying to predict lol. when was the last time they played ride cowboy ride?

Aloha !

Regarding Hey God; Jon has been saying that he wants to play the song on tour since the Bounce Tour. He brings it up every time a reporter asks for what variation they will do on tour, and Jon just throws in the regular "Hey God, Something To Believe In" while he never plays it anyway.

They last time they soundchecked Stick To Your Guns properly was in 1995, and Jon couldn't remember the lyrics and the chords, so no way they'll be playing that song. They've played it once or twice on the New Jersey Tour and even then Jon messed up pretty bad. Richie has been playing the intro a few times during soundchecks, just for fun, and has teased the crowd a few times in 1995 as well. They've never completely soundchecked the entire song.

2001, they played it about 10 times as an intro for Blaze Of Glory.

I think that Damned might return once or twice, and maybe (It's Hard) Letting You Go. Lie To Me was also soundchecked on the Have A Nice Day tour but never played, and although Jon seems to be very fond of the platform, he keeps on using it for the same Bed Of Roses TLFR shit.

Dry County might return once, and In & Out Of Love will be the big surprise for Europe. They've soundchecked the song once now for this tour, and it'd be nice if they'd start playing the songs they soundcheck, instead of keeping them behind closed doors.

Keep in mind that during the HAND tour the only really big surprises were Dry County, Living In Sin and Garageland. This tour they vary a lot more, but apart from the lack of a TLFR set the sets in 2006 weren't that different compared to North America when it came to song choices. Don't get your hopes up for setlist that will drastically change and will be full of surprises when they visit Europe, because that has never happened.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
