Crue are supposed to be (and still believe themselves to be) this no-bullshit hard rock band, when actually they've been selling themselves out since 1985.

You honestly think that Dr. Feelgood is a pop record? Ah well, I'm not going to get into the whole genre labelling debate again.

Nikki's Sixx A.M. project is @26.4 million times better than any Motley album for me :)

That's no joke, man.

I always liked a few of the Crue songs. But Vince's voice was always the weak link. Nasal, thin, shrieky, and lame.

Sixx AM, on the other hand, is one of my favorite records of the past two years. The song writing is way more sophisticated, deep, interesting, and
solid than anything Motley Crue ever dreamed of doing. It is epic. And that singer? That dude is out of this world. He howls like a madman. And has a range that blows most singers out of the water. It is pretty rare that anyone has that pure, clear effortless falsetto and can also scream like an animal.
James Michael is a fantastic singer.

I'm going to Cruefest just to see Sixx AM and then I am bailing.

I dig Nikki but the idea of watching a puffy, whiny Vince bounce around the stage with a massive backing track behind his vox for 90 minutes is not my idea of a good time.

Yea, no, don't like it at all. It just sounds like rehashed Dr. Feelgood to me. Really bad lyrics and I just can't take Vince's vocals. I guess I just don't buy guys in their 40s still singing about the same things they did in their 20s. Can't see this going over well in the US at all but maybe I'll be wrong.

Nikki should stick with Sixx A.M. at least that is fresh sounding.

I like the new song. At least its not a Nashville influenced song.

I'm going to Cruefest.

The video.

And on the topic of Vince Neil's vocals. I actually like his vocals, it's only live that it grates me. Can't be any worse than Axl Rose though.

Track list for the new album, Saints Of Los Angeles.

1. L.A.M.F.
2. Face Down In The Dirt
3. What's It Gonna Take
4. Down At The Whisky
5. Saints Of Los Angeles
6. Muther****er Of The Year
7. The Animal In Me
8. Welcome To The Machine
9. Just Another Psycho
10. Chicks = Trouble
11. This Ain't A Love Song
12. White Trash Circus
13. Goin' Out Swingin'

Judging by the titles, looks like we're in for another New Tattoo type album.

That's great. I thought New Tattoo was a great album, much, much better than Generation Swine (again, another 'experiment' from an 80s rock band that went really wrong resulting in shit songs).

I hope it's a Bon Jovi cover. Crue has slagged BJ many times.
I also hope they headline Rocklahoma or play with Poison, since they slagged Poison a lot too.

Bands that got big in the 80s should stick together instead of being bitches and trying to claim they're not part of the scene.

Captain Walrus 05-09-2008 09:26 AM

How funny would it be if it was a Bon Jovi cover? :D
