I still don't understand how anybody can like a song from Oasis. They are absolute shite.

****ing love Waiting for Rapture and the Shock Of Lightning...ugh!!!
|
After not really liking the album at first, I must say I do have a strong appreciation for 'Dig Out Your Soul'. It flows fairly well, and songs like 'Bag It Up', 'Waiting For The Rapture' and 'The Shock Of The Lightning' are great rockers to go with slower songs like 'Get Off Your High Horse Lady', 'Falling Down' and 'I'm Outta Time'.
|
i have 2 original Oasis albums and i love them!
but the new one, Dig out your soul didn't impressed me that much.. |
Nay I'm Outta Time is a horrible song, therefore a terrible choice for a single.

I really like the song Liam Gallagher wrote on SOTSOG. The lyrics in the 2nd verse are daft but heartfelt, and i think it has a great melody. I've no idea how die hard Oasis fans feel about it, but i think it's a good tune.
I was sorting through my cd's the other day and realised i had all of the Oasis albums bar the last one. I'd never considered myself a huge fan, but obviously i like them enough to have bought the majority of their stuff. It's weird how you assume you prefer other bands more, then realise you don't have as much material of theirs as another band you like, but don't necessarily consider to be a favourite. Or is that just me...? |
i can hear the support acts from my garden!
Oasis should be on within the hour :D I'm there on saturday and cant bloody wait! |

I do know a few that went tonight and have had good reports! |
well apparently the sound went half way through rock n roll star so the band walked off and then came back on ten minutes later, started lyla and it happened again, so off they went again. From what ive heard from friends they sorted it all out, finished the gig and are apparently refunding everyone (but that mite just be bullshit :p)
|
refunding?! haha, doubtfull!
|
Setlist was:
1. Fuckin' In The Bushes 2. Rock N Roll Star ---------- 3. Lyla ---------- 4. The Shock Of The Lightning 5. Cigarettes And Alcohol 6. The Meaning Of Soul 7. Roll With It 8. To Be Where There's Life 9. Waiting For The Rapture 10. The Masterplan 11. Songbird 12. Slide Away 13. Morning Glory 14. My Big Mouth 15. The Importance Of Being Idle 16. Half The World Away 17. I'm Outta Time 18. Wonderwall 19. Live Forever 20. Supersonic ----------- 21. Don't Look Back In Anger 22. Falling Down 23. Champagne Supernova 24. I Am The Warlus Might be some innacuracies, but it's looking like that's what they played. Pretty good setlist, though no Gas Panic :( |
here's the story on refunds;
Oasis returned to the stage after around 40 minutes to successfully kick-start the set again with 'The Shock Of The Lightning' and 'Cigarettes And Alcohol', with the Gallaghers promising to give fans their money back. "Really sorry about that," Liam Gallagher told the crowd. "This is a free gig now. Everyone will get a refund." His brother Noel added: "The curfew's 11, but we'll play 'til they kick us off. Keep your ticket and you'll get your money back." And then later on in the set, however, the logistics of the promised refunds seemed to trouble Noel. "We're not sure how its gonna work with getting the money back,” he said before playing 'Half The World'. “Be on a website or summat. We're not getting paid for this so buy a t-shirt on the way out. Credit crunch and that, keep my kids in sweets. "If you're getting your mum and dad to pick you up outside afterwards, tell we're not leaving til 2am. Kind of regret offering you your money back now. Apply for it back if you wanna be a cunt, we do our best for you." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i reckon they must have realised how much it was gonna cost. the seltist s right ferret, and its pretty great. Im hoping for a few more surprises on saturday |
Aloha !

Brr, Oasis....
|
i reckon it was planned as they'd said all along they had a few suprises planned for manchester but people were saying that could have just been the fact that they played heaton park as it really is a stange venue! im pretty sure the last "mass gathering" there was an audience with the pope in 1982 (200,000 people or summat)

I was at the gig on Thursday night. It was a good performance from the boys. Masterplan and Supersonic were awesome, but I was a bit disappointed they didn't play Acquiesce. But then hey ya can't have it all. Shame about the power cuts, but the atmosphere was great and they played just about the full set anyway. Support bands were average, as is most of the new stuff, but they're a cracking live band and were worth getting covered in beer and piss to go and see.

Hoping and praying they play Gas Panic! when I see them! :p

Yeah Ferret and Seb are right cuz they didn't play Bag It Up at all. Shame really as it's prob their best song off the latest album. Still the band have a great back catalogue and can satisfy almost any audience.
|
I actually love the setlist, the songs from DOYS are all great in my opinion. Love 'Falling Down' and 'To Be Where There's Life'.
|
I saw them yesterday! :D
Got to the stadium for about 10 AM. Waited in line until 12 to get to another part of the acess areas, and I heard them soundchecking 'To Be Where There's Life', 'Roll With It', 'Waiting For The Rapture', 'Live Forever' and 'Gas Panic!' When we got into the general admissiona rea it was about 4. Reverand And The Makers came on 5:15. They were okay, nothing special. Their lady keyboardist was doing some weird robotic dancing and the bald saxophonist/keyboardist was just funny in general. The Enemy got a good reception, but I didn't like them at all. Just not my type. Kasabain were wthe only support act i was interested in. They were excellent, and 'Fire' was played so I was over the moon. They went off stage for 5 minutes for some reason, apparently there was something going on near the back of the stadium. Oasis the came on, and it was anarchy. Jumping around next to people you don't know is always fun! They sounded brilliant, Noel's songs especially amazing. Best song of teh night for me was either 'The Masterplan' or 'Slide Away'. According to a lot of people, Liam's voice was off. I didn't notice it myself. I just think the band played a great set and performed very well. We were covered in piss, beer, rain, sweat etc. but all in all it was a tremedous day! |
haha thats top man! glad you enjoyed it and its great you heard gas panic soundchecked as it was the one you wanted :p
Was it the same setlist as manchester? |

I'm not sure, I think the order was changed around, as Morning Glory was staright after Slide Away? Also, they didn't play To Be Where There's Life. |

Glad you enjoyed it, though. Can't wait to see them at Wembley. |
i downloaded a gig Noel did for charity the other week, its called 'The Dreams We Have As Children' and its fantastic. I can't get enough of it and its geat to hear so many B sides!
david, what did you think of i'm outta time? i thought it was the best off the new album to be played. |

Thanks though mate. :p 'I'm Outta Time' was really good, wasn't expecting the crowd to know it to be honest but they did. :p MY BIG MOUTH - Absolutely nobody knew that song! :o |
