Explain something to me...

last night i posted a topic in which i was talking about the selling of 2 tickets.

Today i cannot find it. Why is that?

Look guys, i am a moderator in an other site and i know how things are working out in a forum. That s why i sent an email on the webmaster 3 days ago or something like that asking him if i was allowed to post a topic related with something like this(selling tickets). He did not answer to me...

Then i saw that they are at least 3 topics realted to the same idea, selling tickets. So i thought that it was ok. But these are still there. So the only explanation for the disappearence of my topic is to be deleted. And if so, why you deleted it?? And if you did not, where is it?

One more thing. If you did delete it, why you did not send me a pm saying it to me? I mean, where is the responsibility either from the webmaster or the moderators?

Thank you for your time, and i hope for someone to answer to me.

I'll stick my oar in, although I don't moderate here. You want Kev. However: I'm a moderator on a few other forums, and a webmaster.

I would assume that the other topics selling tickets will have the same action taken as was taken on yours. Also, you say Peter (The Boss) didn't reply - so you posted it anyway? Irresponsible. If you don't have permission, try integrating with the board, then you might learn what's cool and what's not. You'd also know Kev is the man you want, as Peter isn't in residence very often. You have 2 posts - this and your selling topic!

I understand what you are talking about..
I know that it was irrensponsible posting it anyway. I although waited for 3 days at least if i remember correctly and then i posted it only because i saw and other topics that are many days active.
I know that this is my 3 for example post but what does this mean? In my opinion it does not depends on how many posts i have so to be treated the same with someone who has 3.000 for example, or generally be treated with "another way".

Look, umfortunately i am in a bit of rush, because i really need the money, that s why i did not wait longer for a reply. This one with the other reason i said before.

I am not arguing here with bad feelings. I want to make this clear, i am trying to understand some things.

Thanks pal for the reply anf for letting me know who has the "power" in here...:p

Dear Aris7,

Peter (JoviTalk's webmaster) isn't always around I'm afraid, but like Ryan said, if you were unsure, then please contact a moderator with any concerns you may have. Selling tickets on this forum, is not something that we 'entirely' agree with, however, we find that giving users the opportunity to help out another fan is fine, PROVIDING that these tickets are for FACE VALUE and NO PROFIT is to be made from selling your tickets to another forumer.

JoviTalk is not really a place for selling tickets and we would advise, in the first instance, that you try cancelling your tickets if you are unable to attend a performance and if you still have trouble getting rid of a ticket, then we will allow this. I apologise if your selling topic was removed from the forum. Often, users often sign up, just to make a fast buck, use their very first post to advertise tickets and actually have no tickets available whatsoever.

As you are clearly upset about this, on this occasion, I have decided to move your thread back into the Tour Forum on JoviTalk, and close (lock) the thread in question (This is the case with ALL 'Ticket for sale' related topics, as you will see for yourself) so other users can contact you via PM.

I hope this helps. Any further questions you may have, please respond in this thread and I, or another moderator will get back to you, at the earliest opportunity.

Thanks
Kev

Dear Kev,
Thank you for your answer. I understand that you may be busy and i absolutely respect that as you, the moderators and everyone else in here.

Unfortunately i tries to cancel them, but i was told that i cant. That's why I am trying to sell them. Of coursse, as I said on the message i sent to you, it is no profit. I can send pictures showing the price the ticket itself has. I am not trying to steal someone, i am not that kind of guy, and of course i know that this is something that you cannot be aware of. Logical.

Anyway thank you very much first of all for the reply and for the topic.

Thank you!

I just read your original post and I can understand why it was removed. I'm not the one who removed it, but I support whoever's decision to do so.

NOWHERE in this post did you say these tickets were being sold for face value. Also, in your original post you said

A friend of my father is working on the greatest sponsor so he gave them to me because he knows that i am a big fan of B.J.
So it sounds as if you *are* simply trying to make a profit. However pure your intentions might be, you're a new poster seeking to sell something, did not name a price, and came across as nothing more than a scalper or scam artist trying to profit from the members of this forum. Therefore, I don't believe that anyone who removed your post owes you an explanation or an apology at all.

Maybe I'm just not as nice as Kev. ;)

I thought the same thing....

Well, I understand that indeed my post may sounded like this, but i didnt ment to.. As I said i am greek, so my mother language is not the english. Forgive me for that, and for the fact i do not know how to explain things perfectly.

When i said "gave" i was meaning that he said to my father if he wanted to buy them from him, and he said yes, that s how i have the tickets. In my original, as you said, post i am saying "If you want to check if this is true i can of course send you some pictures with them!" So as everyone knows in the ticket there is the price so everyone would-will be able to see if i am lying so to make profit.

Why to name a price? If someone is interested can send my a pm, as i said to my post "If someone is interested please do not hesitate to contact with me.".... I think it is straight forward.

I repeat I have nothing personal with someone..

"Therefore, I don't believe that anyone who removed your post owes you an explanation or an apology at all. "
Really? So you do not explain to someone why his/her post was deleted? So according to your opinion I am supposed to understand why it was deleted and not asking the reason why, as i am doing in this topic?

I do not know about you but in the forum in which i am moderator we are supposed to explain everything. Meaning if we deleted a post or a topic, or something like that we are supposed to explain. I think it shows responsibility and also suaveness.

Friendly,
Aris

Naming a price on the board is a small amount of evidence that you're not using Dry County to scam someone out of a lot of money. Since you did not clarify in your post that you were asking for face value, the opposite seemed likely.

We don't have a policy of placating to nuisances who come along linking to their Ebay auctions, trying to scalp tickets, or trying to sell Nokia 350 phones, bootlegs, or Viagra. It's a waste of our time since 99 times out of 100 we would be contacting a spambot or scam artist.

As someone suggested to you earlier, if you had come in and actually gotten to know the forum a little bit or even made a post to ask about selling tickets, you wouldn't have immediately appeared to be nothing more than a scalper. The users of the any forum can be very helpful in answering questions. As I said before, no matter how good your intentions might be, your initial post gave no reason to believe that you were not out for a huge profit. The story about getting the "VIP" tickets actually cast extra suspicion your way since it's obvious that these have the potential to be quite costly.

What can I say? Kev is nicer and more trusting than I am. ;) I think the moderator who deleted the post initially did the right thing.

Now I Understand!

Hi there all,
Having made the same mistake as others I will stop trying to find the post I put on.
I also had checked to see if it was possible to post a thread about tickets and having not found anything that said no and having read other threads I also posted one. I apologise, but when you only want to rehome your ticket without any hassle to people who really want them and do so without making money on it thought fan site would be the place to do it.
There are us poor people out there who are honest etc who just want an easy life but now I know- may be a line in the members agreement thing would clarify issue.
Cheers
Rach
