LOL! you might have a point there :D

obviously not that i indulged in any such nonsense being a man of the teaching profession but the guy i was in the dam with last time was rather disappointed at the amount of windows and head shops that had been shut down since the last time he was there.

Changing the topic for a moment. What do you two think about McCain's choice as a VP?

I haven't informed myself on Sarah Palin yet... but the choice doesn't appear to me as serious. She seems very light weight compared to Biden. We'll see. Ponrauil |

Biden compliments Obama due to the experience Biden has that Obama doesn't. McCain has the experience but is quite old. Palin has the youth factor on her side along with of course being a woman. Interesting choices. |

The choice seems to have been made for communication reasons, not quality and potential of the ticket if elected. Ponrauil |
o don't know anything about either VP candidate but it was funny to see the neocons on th epolitics forum i post running biden down rotten until someone pointed out that their big gripe with obama was his lack of experience now they were moaning about him picking someone with experience.
someone also pointed out that going by mccains own opinions on what the US military gets upto with PoWs, he was never "tortured" so he should stfu about nam :D |

Personally, I think it is all nonsense. The people who run Washington are the rich with the President just being the puppet anyway. Plus, these stupid "rock star" conventions are such a waste of money on both sides. Especially when that money could go to something a hell of a lot more useful. OK..gripe over! My final theory of the day is that the media is making it seem like this election is a lot closer than what it actually is. I could be wrong, but I think McCain has a far larger lead than we are lead to believe. I won't know for sure until election night, but that is my prediction. *This post will come back to bit me in the arse if Obama wins! |
The fact that McCain picked a conservative for a VP makes me want to vote for him, as opposed to voting for him simply because he's the lesser of 2 evils. Yeah, he's still a rotten SOB, but this gives me some hope.
Mouse:I think the media is making the election seem a lot closer because the media wants BHO to win and actively supports him (YMMV, depending on your part of the country). That McCain can edge out a enough info and enough of a message to look like he has a chance is a tribute to his persistance. He should be up in arms at the advantage the scum in the MSM have given his opponents, but he just keeps soldiering on. Good for him. Adrian |
