PRAISE... Bobby Bandiera!!!!!
Say what you want about Bobby, but he has a great voice and is a phenomenal player. In any other circumstances, you would say he is a great talent. He was always a highlight of Southside Johnny shows. Now, with BJ, he has a chance to shine those talents. I am glad he sang Drift Away... his voice suits it...

Well, he does seem to have a great voice, but I've yet to see him do anything particularly impressive on guitar ....

I don't want to see or hear him at all. He is really useless in Bon Jovi. He would better improve his talent while playing with Southside Johnny than with Bon Jovi. But that's probably not his invention.

Bobby is probably the reason why they sang Drift Away. At the SSJ shows that I have been to without Bobby - John has sometimes NOT played a request because "Bobby isn't here and that one needs a good voice".
Bobby is not a bad guitar player - his style is so different that he comes across as almost inept - but he's not. He comes from the "wicked licks and nothing else" school of rock and roll LOL. As a local musician I have to defend him too. No one works harder. He organizes all sorts of benefit concerts at the Red Bank Theater. He has run the New Jersey Shore Rock and Roll Reveiw for several years. He's a good guy, but musically, he really doesn't belong in the Bon Jovi band except as a basic rhythm guitar player. |
I would like to especially praise him for the solo in In These Arms.

Bobby is a talented guitar player, but his style doesn't suit Bon Jovi at all.
