What seperates Bon Jovi
After listening to the new Weezer record, it really makes sense. In the past month, 3 of my favorite artists have released new albums - Def Leppard, Bryan Adams, Weezer. A couple of the Def Leppard songs I like. I don't like anything on the new BA record, and only 1 song on the new Weezer record.
As much as I was indifferent about some of the songs on Lost Highway, at least Bon Jovi never releases anything that I would never want to hear again. Might not be as good as Wanted or Prayer, but it's decent. And there are ALWAYS at least a handful of songs on every record, that are good to very good (in my opinion.) I think in others opinions too. This is what I think seperates Bon Jovi from the rest and why they're still relevant, selling records, and playing stadiums. Rant over. |
well said.

It helps that even the worst written Bon Jovi songs (WGIGO for example) are not as terrible as Def Leppards 'Nine Lives'.

That's so true, even 7800 and Bounce have their fair share of really good songs.

I actually really really like the new Def Leppard album .... only time will tell, but I'm currently thinking that it's possibly better than any of the post 2000 Jovi albums

Agreed with Walrus!!
Imo Songs from the Sparkle Lounge is better than Jovi's 00s albums. |
As I notoriously stated many times, I think Have A Nice Day was Bon Jovi's best album since Keep The Faith.
Songs from....is OK. A couple of good songs. I liked X much better. To the original point, clearly, Bon jovi is still making music that resinates more with the average listener. |
Have to agree, even the worst album from BJ(IMO HAND) still has 3 or 4 excellent songs.
