All About Lovin You + Thank You For Lovin Me
 

Two of the most bagged Jovi songs on this forum I think (especially AALY).

What is it that people dont like about these songs? Because I love both these songs (more TYFLM than AALY). They would both rate in my favourite 20 Bon Jovi songs ever. I love both film clips! And lyrics (as cheesy as they can be) are really nice. Ontop of the great melody and tune, these songs are great!

Just wondering why people dont feel the love for them!?

I quite lke TYFLM, but All About Lovin You is piss poor. Dunno why I like one and not the other, since they're pretty similar :|

I'm the same as Ryan, although I don't like TYFLM a WHOLE lot, I do enjoy it when I hear it. AALY just grates on me for some reason.

Although it's grown on me and I think it's ok now, Thank You For Loving Me I always thought was way too cheesy... Then AALY came out and it went up a gear!

There's also no (I'm not sure how to put this but I know what I mean!) 'muscle' to either of the songs, like there is on I'll Be There For You or Stay for example.

I particuarly dislike AALY because in my opinion it is a really lazy song. I know the band revisit and regurgitate old ideas and lyrics quite often, but there's *nothing* new to AALY to my ears... To me it just sounds like drivel and I'm embarrassed that it was a choice for a single.

All About Loving You is just too much of a formula - they were trying to recreate Always. Even parts of the videos for the 2 songs are similar, so I don't rate that at all.

Thank You For Loving Me - While it's not as strong a song as Always, Bed Of Roses, I'll Be There For You, I still think it's a nice, sweet song. It has connotations for me because when I first came online Crush was out and I got in a long term relationship with someone I met who was also a Jovi fan and that I guess was the mandatory "our song". Don't listen to it much now, mainly because of the memories...

If I'm comparing the two, Thank You would win every time, and is the best of the post 2000 ballads, but it doesn't hold up against the 90's ballads at all.

MaM is much better, for me.
