My opinions of U2 and Coldplay are very similar. I'm trying to enjoy Coldplay for the time being, until they start spurting out rubbish like How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. |

Really? Then they should play acoustic guitars and not electric. Y'know, to save electricity and all.

I'm all happy with celebs doing their bit for the world, it pleases me to see it happening. But they need to draw a line at times. I couldn't be doing with Bono ramming 3rd world poverty down my neck after having paid 60 odd quid for a ticket to one of his shows. I pay money for shows to be entertained, not lectured.
|
Well, us fans don't mind him doing that. :) It brings something to the show. He also does it in an entertaining way. He's a hero...I don't care what anybody says.

I'm a big fan of both Coldplay and U2. And as I mentioned before, Coldplay is yet to get too much like U2 in the sense that they're preaching during live shows but if they were to get like this I'd have a problem with it. It's not entertaining, it's annoying.
I think it's great some of the work Bono does, I really do, but he isn't a hero and he certainly won't end poverty no matter how much he appears to believe he will. He isn't the only person in this world to do charity work, there are a lot of 'heros' that fail to get recognised. |
Aloha !
