Backstage members at Twicks!
Was it just me or did anyone else notice what outright d**kheads the Backstage members in about the first four, centre rows at Twickenham were on the 28th!? I was in about the 5th row-ish and MOST (not all) of the people in front of me were right asses! I mean i no some people can get a bit annoyed if people try to psuh in front or something but the lengths these went to was insanity!
Ok so i could just about cope with getting asked everytime i got up if i had two wristbands (meaning FC gold circle tickets) as it meant i was 'allowed' to stand near these people that thought they had devine right to the GC. BUT!!! There were several factors that really got to me! 1) Putting Bags, Deckchairs, Rugs, Inflatable crap and all sorts as far between them as they could so that there was a good 4 metres of space for each of them to stand. Then not movin em so people could get nearer when BJ came on. 2) Not letting a child of about 8 years old in front of them who wanted to take a photo cos she didnt have a number on her hand! 3) Shouting at some bloke passing his wife a beer and getting him kicked out so that i missed ALL of 'Keep The Faith' 4) Demanding i sit down because otherwise it mean 'non-members' wouldnt get close. and to top it all off being right boring farts for the whole of the concerts! Theres more but i'll jsut end up getting myself annoyed:p Don;t get me wrong got nothn' wrong with Backstage members (i;m oine myself). And the majority of the people at jovi concerts are a real pleasure to meet! I've never experienceed anything like this before and i;ve always stoof in the same place. but these middle-aged , miserable pieces of work who thought they could take over the GC really really really annoyed me. They really are a petty bunch. Thanks to there constant guarding of the air of the front of the GC! If you dont want to stand with people and want to resever your own space. Buy seated tickets! Better yet = STAY AT HOME! Any1 else ever experienced assey jovi fans? or were at twicks and noticed the same? |
Sorry you had such hassles. I am a backstage member and came for both shows. But, I decided fairly early on I'd stay at the back so I didn't have any hassles.

You'd find that alot of Backstage members at the front where you say, were from mainland Europe... I was told about some germans who took up quite alot of space at this particular show, unfortunately thats the way it is, they seem to like having loads of space.
Alot of Backstage members down the front do think it is their right that they have this particular place at a show and will stop at nothing to get it! I'm a Backstage member, had a number and also had 2 wristbands, chose to stand at the back... |

But, yea, those that queue for all hours tend to get a bit testy and uptight when feeling they might lose their spot, which I know you weren't trying to do. deb |
I remember one Backstage Member (wearing a massive hat) being a right B!tch.
I was in the Gold Circle Queue waiting patiently for the Fanclub members to go first in the Stadium (fair enough, it's a Rule). There was this time when one of the Security People kindly requested the Backstage Members not to run or cause any havoc once allowed in the Stadium. And this one member goes straight to the Guard, points a finger at him and loudly says to him: "It's Them You Should Be Suggesting This To!" (Pointing towards the GC Queue) God I wish I had a chance to pour a Pint over her head.....only Kev would've killed me, as I still owe him a few Pints  |

Is it worth signing up to become a Backstage member then? I'm not bothered about early entry into the GC area for a gig. In fact, I'd rather take regular GC tickets - I joined the queue at 3pm on Friday and ended up standing with the backstage members anyway.
I saw lots of things in GC - pushing, shoving, lots of bitching, people taking pics of other fans and then sneering at them as they showed them to their mates, and some lady steaming her way into the crowd to get a look at the set list that someone got hold of. The members I saw were pretty miserable. (I have a great picture to prove it but I won't post in on here) ;) I'm guessing that they've been to so many shows that the enthusiasm isn't there for them anymore. |
