i'm going through the "can't listen to bon jovi" phase again

i'm sure a few (if not most) people will know what i mean , if not i'll explain.

Ok so i put a bon jovi song on and half way through it i just get really bored of it , even with the songs i love (even WITW!)

it hit me during a video i was watching on youtube (it was an acousitc version of prayer form '94) i thought "why am i listening to this?" , "i've this done hundreds of times before and every version is almost the same" so i turned it off. Then just a minute ago i had "lay your hands on me" on and again i got really bored during it and it's usually a song i really enjoy.

no doubt i'll be back in bon jovi mode in a few days but right now i don't want to listen to them at all , i think i've just seriously overplayed them over the past few weeks (i've hardly listened to anything else at all)

but my point was , is anyone else is this stage ? have you been it before etc? or is it just me ? :p (thought it might get a conversation going :p)

well i've listen to mainly bon jovi, with occasianal intermissions (sad i know!) so i guess im due one of these phases. I tend to go through phases of getting bored of Album X or Song X, for example there was a time i hated Let It Rock/LYHOM and now i love em, and ive had times where ive been bored of wanted prayer. I tend to overlisten a song, or album, but then theres loads of others lol.

I've been there before, because I play them over, and over, and over. But at the moment, after the show - NO WAY! I'm wanting to listen to them/watch them even more so.

i understand what you mean , that feeling is great , where you just can't get enough of the band and would do anything to see them etc but right now i've got the exact opposite

Hmm, strange. You'd think you wouldn't after the shows. You just need a break. It happens.

You need to look at some other bands to take your mind off them and distract you a little bit. It also makes you appreciate them more when they come round again. :)

I do go through these stages! I go through stages now and then, where I won't listen to Jovi for a while. And I agree, when you come back to them - it sounds soooooooooo good. It's like hearing it for the first time again. But right now, I can't back away...I need more, more, more...and they got me beggin' for mercy.

I'm lucky in that the pub near me has live rock tribute acts every Saturday...and yes, I know it's nothing like the real thing, but it is nice having a live band playing over 2 hours of Jovi hits for you to sing along...it does help :D

The beauty of mp3 players. If i get sick of jovi I can jump to another band for a song or 2, and then I think of a jovi song I want to hear again and boom right back to it. I dont think I really ever get sick of Jovi though. I get in my specific CD moods though. Recently been on a Crush kick.
