Official July 12, 2008 - Central Park NY PBP Thread

-This thread is for setilst and PBP discussion for the Free Bon Jovi concert in Central Park.

As for my opinion on the set, I think it will be a very hit heavy/casual fan friendly affair. The best chances for rarities (IMO) are Always, Bed of Roses, and possibly a chance for a CP related cover (Bridge Over Troubled Water, Mrs. Robinson, Imagine, Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting, or something along those lines) I actually don't mind a this type of set in this venue, IF it's a great show performance wise. Only time will tell I suppose.

Songs that I think will no doubt be played:
-Sleep
-Prayer
-Who Says
-Bad Name
-BTBMB
-IML
-Medicine
-Wanted
-KTF
-HAND
-LH
-ILTT
-WLOL
-Summertime

I agree with your analysis. The US Tour has been an incredible bummer set wise, and that pattern isn't going to change at a show like this. However, we can hope for something with the energy of Rock In Rio. And that would be great.

I'm not going to this, CW11 never came through for me, but judging from the chaos this sounds like it's going to be logistically, I'm not complaining too much. I'll go golfing instead. But I hope everyone going doesn't get ****ed over by the arrangements, and that the band decides to put on a good show.

I agree with your song choices.I was thinking along those same lines an hour ago.I say less focus on the LH stuff though since not everybody will know those songs. Could some surprise guests be apart of the show?Hmm I wonder.

It's definitely possible. I remember during Garth... It was great! :)

I could see it being like that Ontario show and it not being a long set. Hopefully I'm wrong, but we'll see. from the looks of it it's really well organized and alot could go wrong. I'm expecting he'll play raise your hands and Capt. Crash somewhere in the set also. we'll see about the MSG. I expect them to have killer sets but I thought the same for Boston.

Hey Everyone,

Just got back from central park to check out the stage set up. If anyone is wondering there will be 5 big HD screens along the sides of the lawn for everyone in the back.
Barricades are already up and if anyone is wondering the only restrooms I saw is on 72street. Heres a pix I took of the stage. I apologize for the quality since I was using my palm centro.

It's weird how different you imagine CP being when you've never seen a glimpse of it!

Have fun everyone going!

EDIT: tomorrow (for some reason I thought it was today - it is the 12th here, after all)

I know that none of the radio stations will be broadcasting the show. The band will be taking the stage at 7:40.
