Talks have been opened with Barry regarding a new 4-year, £65,000-a-week deal but i don't think he's going to take it. MON has even come out and said they are willing to let him see out his final year of his contract and then leave on a free next summer, that's how much we need him.

Barry, in my opinion, will stay.

I hope he does because I want Alonso to stay.

I'd be absolutely gutted if we sold Alonso and especially considering he's been one of our best players this year. Although I don't see why we can't keep Alonso and still get Barry and just play him on the left next season. Doubt he'll cost a ridiculous amount of money either now that he only has one year left to run on his contract.

Exactly. The main reason I would like Barry is because he can play in a lot of positions. He will cover left back if Aurelio gets injured as well. If Alonso goes, I will be gutted!!

I hope the rumours that Everton are still in the hunt for Moutinho of Sporting are true. He would be an amazing signing and a midfield of Pienaar. Arteta, Moutinho, Fellaini and Cahill would be the best we've had for a long time! ;)

Spot on, and that's why Barry would be a good addition to the squad with him being so versatile and being able to cover a number of postions. But not at the sacrifice of Alonso like we've said. As for the other fella mentioning something about bringing Owen back to Anfield. Well to be honest I wouldn't want him back because I think he would spend far more time in the treatment room than what he would warming the bench. Regarding cover for Torres next season I think Rafa will bring someone in during the summer who'll do more than a job for when Torres gets injured/rested.

Didn't he sign a new contract mid-season? I can't imagine we'd be prepared to stump up £16m (at least) for him when he made it quite clear that he turned Everton down last summer. Hardly the sort of attitude Moyes would favour; the last time it happened was Manny Fernandes and Moyes told him to get on his bike.

You going to the final or the beamback at Goodison?

I like the way Moyes is like that. He won't take any crap, all managers should be like that.

Dutch, Yeah, totally agree. We got rid of Anelka & Fowler because Owen got all of the treatment and Heskey would of been a fantastic signing if it wasn't for Houllier wanting Owen to get all the glory!

Yeah he signed a new deal but according to the Blue Kipper and Toffeeweb sites, he has been quoted as saying he feels he could play in the Premiership and that the coach of Everton was after him last season. Sounds like he's up for a move after all. Would love it to be to Goodison!! ;)

I'm not so sure he actually turned us down either. Wasn't it a case of Sporting being as awkward as possible? (admittadly Kenwright probably offered them a pound a week)

Nah not going to Wembley or the beamback, it'll be family and friends round for some/a lot of bevvies!!! COYB 8)

I think Fowler went the first time around because of the massive training ground bust up he had with Phil Thompson. Do you remember that? If not then Fowler absolutely rifled a ball towards Thompson which just skimmed his skull, and when asked to apologise afterwards he rufused out of principle so he was sent on his way. Agreed over Anelka and I was absolutely gutted when Houllier didn't take up the option to sign him. Not only was he really good for us, but he seemed to be loving life at Anfield and I still think that was one of the few massive clangers Houllier dropped.

Just a quick question for the Everton fans. Have either of you heard about the prospect of Moyes taking Jo on loan again next season? I heard about it a couple days ago on SSN and think there's a good possibility of this happening.
