lol was the "either of you" remark a dig? There are more than TWO Everton fans in this forum......surely??? :)

As for Jo, I've read quotes from Moyes saying we are unlikely to be able to afford to buy him, and when it was put to him whether another loan deal was feasible, he said it wasn't something that had been discussed by either club.
I would be happy to get him for another season long loan, but given our restricted transfer budget, i'd rather the money be spent on Moutinho!!!!

Kev's knocking about here somewhere too, but I think that's about it.

As for Jo, we definitely won't buy him so a lot rests on whether he's going to feature heavily in Hughes' plans or whether he'd be happy for us to nab him on another loan.

As good a player as Moutinho is, we'd have to spend pretty much our entire budget on one player when, in truth, we need at least one striker and one creative midfielder. I wouldn't rule out a cheeky move for Owen; Moyes made no secret of the fact that he tried to hijack his move to Newcastle so it remains to be seen whether or not he'd still think him worthy of a punt.

Yup I am here, just not had chance to check into here for the last few days. Owen would be a great signing for us...especially on a free transfer, as his contract has expired at Newcastle. We would however have to try and keep the guy injury free, who has spent the majority of the last 3-4 years on the sidelines in one way or another. Moyes needs to be ruthless in this Transfer Window. Our attacking options are pretty limited and we need to bring in another out and out goalscorer who is going to get us 15-20 goals a season. It will be nice to have Yakubu back next season too! :)

Jo has been an okay player for us, but lets be honest, he is still yet to set the Premiership alight. Sorry, but he isn't worth the £18M asking fee. Jamaine Beckford from Leeds has just been transfer listed as he refused to sign a 3 year extention to his existing contract. Not sure how he would deal with playing in the countries top division though. May be worth a shot at around £4M or £5M and we all know how Moyes looks at the lower divisions for tallent... :)

For now...3 days till Wembley!

Agreed over Anelka and I was absolutely gutted when Houllier didn't take up the option to sign him. Not only was he really good for us, but he seemed to be loving life at Anfield and I still think that was one of the few massive clangers Houllier dropped.

I remember that but from what I heard, Fowler was only fooling around (typical Fowler) and Thompson really went mad. Anyway, Houllier & Thompson still wanted Owen to take the glory. If we signed Anelka, that would of been brilliant. He didn't score many, but he was a great loan signing and would of been great if he was permanent.

Beckford transfer listed...I hope Newcastle don't continue their trend of signing anyone Leeds can't keep/don't want etc.

I've never seen Beckford play tbh.

Any good?

letting anelka go was one of GH's gravest errors. that summer ultimately proved his downfall. after finishing 2nd he went out and bought: diouf, diao and cheyrou. we can't afford to make similar errors this time around.

as for jo, there's no way in the world everton should sign him. poor player at that level.

Tell me about it.

Diouf looked amazing in the World Cup in 2002. Cheyrou was meant to be the 'New Zidane' (yeah right) and Diao was just.. well... let's not go there.

According to my mate who is a Leeds fan, he's amazing. However, he thinks Leeds are a big club, so...can't trust his judgment to be perfectly honest.
