I know how you feel mate :S

That's SOOO the same with Sporting. We could be at first place a long time ago.

It was 5 wasn't it? I really can't remember.

Either way, it wasn't Man Utd's from the start, we had our chance and we blew it.

The point I was making was that Man United are better than anyone in this league and that was always gonna be proved.

Oh alright whatever, i can't be bothered arguing with you.

severo17 03-01-2009 02:51 AM

Draw with Porto 0-0 ... in their stadium.

It was a very tactical game. It became clear in the whole game that each of the teams were respecting each other quite a lot. So the game was almost all in the midfield. With very few opportunities. I can count one for Porto and three for Sporting, all flagrant. If the one from Liedson that hit the post had got in... Oh well. It was a ok game I guess.

We played almost with our best team, so had Porto, and we showed that the game from Wednesday was just a mere accident.

There's more next week

Games like this really irritate me!

We've got Stoke at home today. Stoke are crap away, we're crap at home.
It's got 0-0 written all over it!

I think 2-1 to villa.

That doesn't make sense though because if Liverpool were 5 points clear at Xmas and had matched United's results in the second half of the season, they'd be champions. If any team is ahead in the title race, the result is in their own hands and nobody else's.

Exactly. Thank you. That's the point i was making. I had a feeling this season it would be out of us and Man U to win the league this season, and at xmas i thought it could of been us. Now, we will be lucky to even get third.

KeepTheFaith2211 03-01-2009 07:41 PM

But didn't Man U have two games in hand(Fulham at home and the games that weren't played because of the Carling Cup) plus Liverpool at home?

Anyway, enjoy your top 4 places anyway! :p

liljovi93 03-01-2009 08:09 PM

Man U won :(

I didn't see all of the game, only extra time as i was out.

KeepTheFaith2211 03-01-2009 08:34 PM

Kinda glad and annoyed about Man U winning.

Annoyed = I hate them.

Glad = Man U win, celebrate then it's forgotten about. If Spurs won you would be hearing about it for years.

Kev 03-01-2009 09:02 PM

And that means another place in the Uefa Cup for the team who finishes 6th in the league. Cmon Everton! :)

Haha yeah, pressure is on for Everton now.

What are your next few matches?

Kev 03-01-2009 10:06 PM

Away at Blackburn on Wednesday, Quater final at home against Boro on Sunday (Which I have tickets for :) ), then Stoke at home followed by Pompy away. We still have to face Chelsea and Villa before the end of the season though, so that should be fun! LOL. One defeat in our last fifteen matches for us now and that was against Man Utd. Our record of late is excellent considering our small squad, injuries and lack of funds in the transfer window.

Sure is :)

You're a good team and i hate it when Liverpool fans say Everton are crap. They clearly aren't and this season has proved it considering the problems you've had.

liljovi93 03-05-2009 09:40 AM

Still 7 points behind Man U :(

Got to keep the pressure on them though. Our next game is Man U, beat them and we will be 4 points away. That narrows it down to just 2 games. They still have Villa & Arsenal to play?

No disrespect but I can't see them losing at home.

Beckham to stay at Milan
Last Updated: Friday, 06 March 2009, 12:07 GMT- Search: Beckham AC Milan

David Beckham will stay at AC Milan until the end of the season and will also play for the Italian giants for most of next season, it can be revealed.
Under a unique 'timeshare' agreement the England midfielder will play for Los Angeles Galaxy between July and October before returning to Milan in November for the rest of next season.
It is understood that Beckham is so determined to stay at Milan that he will fund the majority of the loan fee being paid to Galaxy himself.
A spokesman for Beckham declined to comment but the deal is expected to be officially confirmed by the clubs later on Friday or over the weekend.

The deal follows weeks of negotiations between the two clubs during which Milan baulked at the size of the transfer fee Galaxy were demanding - thought to be around £12million.
Beckham's desire to play for a top club in order to cement his place in the England squad for the 2010 World Cup finals led to the 33-year-old to effectively fund the unique loan deal himself.
The only issue that has yet to be settled is Beckham's position at the end of next season - under the arrangement he will only be on loan at Milan until then.
Under the arrangement Beckham will not have the sort of long break most players in Europe enjoy in the summer but he will have several shorter breaks instead.
He will have some time off before rejoining Galaxy in July, and then another break before returning to Milan in November.
He will also benefit from the winter break in Serie A and believes that will make him at least as fresh as any Premier League player when the World Cup comes around.

Hahaha. I only want Man U to win because I will never hear the end of it from Bluenoses, but you have done well to get this far.

Liverpool - Madrid today. Can't let them score. Really can't!

The sad reality...

http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/rorysmi...y_have_a_point

I underline this part...

"... In another world, this would not have been a eulogy for Sporting, but a paean. In another world, they would have lined up last night with Simao Sabrosa on one wing, Quaresma on the other, Veloso and Moutinho in the centre. Ronaldo would have floated behind Liedson, the Brazilian striker (as the continued inclusion of Helder Postiga and Nuno Gomes in the national team suggests, Portugal doesn't do strikers, at least not any more). Had they needed to calm things down, Luis Figo could have come on late in the game to weave his own special brand of magic. Few sides in the world, let alone Europe, would have been able to cope."

People these days :)

Well, I can't wait until Saturday now. If we play like we did last night, we will thrash Man U.
