Hit the bar 3 times !!!
Battered them, Alonso got stretchered off :( Barton sent off as well for it. Not sure if it was a red but it was a bad tackle. |
Seriously, what a waste of time? The result was pre-determined, was just a matter og how many goals Liverpool would get...

Shearer wasn't happy at all. |
hat was a sickening challenger from a total thug. the fan who was hoisting his BARTON 7 shirt aloft at his dismissal is also a total clown. newcastle will go down, no doubt.
hope xabi's ok, i've heard it's only bruising ... |

It's not like Alonso to go off on a stretcher, I mean, this is the same guy who tried to run off a broken foot! |
TBH, it was a really bad challenge but he got some of the ball. Deserved a red, still.
Anyway, it was pretty shocking day yesterday, in terms of the North East clubs. Liverpool beat us too easily, and apparently Sunderland were even worse against Everton! |

Sunderland were bad, but... they could of went through sometimes if they played the right ball to Cisse who got into some good spaces. Everton deserved the win though! |
As much as I hate Joey Barton with a passion, I don't think it was a straight red offence for the tackle. The intent was to get the ball, he got some of it and didn't make the worst contact with Alonso.
I would have sent him off though because if you watch it again, you can see as he gets to his feet to retrieve the ball, he has a swift flick at Alonso with his right leg. |
i admire shearer greatly. doesn't come out and try to defend him, instead he tells it as it is and takes necessary action (£120,000 fine by all accounts).
|
I am well annoyed Birmingham are coming back up, still least we finally won a game against Hull.
|
Thanks a lot Aston Villa.
|
Barton fined and suspended.
|
Maybe our patience is running out...

He brings Barton back into the team, and he goes and gets sent off.... |
Looks like the title race is over.
Bruce will let Man U win so that means they only need 1 more point to win the title. |

It won't have anything to do with the fact that United managed to save themselves from the slump in form they had for a few weeks - it'll be good ol' Mark Hughes this week and Steve Bruce next week that do their old manager a favour. |

I don't. Wigan want the points as well. Aren't they chasing 7th?

I reckon either a win/draw with Wigan and the league will be wrapped up with another win over Arsenal before Liverpool even play their next game. ;) |

yay it was nice to see an old firm game where both teams actually looked like they wanted to score.

Well... Porto is champion again... :(:(:(
Two games left, and we're 6 points behind, and they have vantage over us (1win and a draw) Gosh, we lost so many stupid points as the season went by. I just can't believe it... Oh well... There's more next year.... |
Tonight is the biggest football match since I've been alive. And it's going to finish 0-0, too.

Whoever doesn't win is down, so this is as must-win as they get. |

Kicked off? |
oh dear.
terrible start for the toon. looks like it's going to be an all out attacking game from both. |
We are playing very well, creating chances, but can't convert.
And the longer that goes on, the worse... |
looks like newcastle have this game wrapped-up, and with it survival for me. can't see hull collecting any more points.

I'm not getting my hopes up. Still two very tough games to go...
|
Edging ever closer to safety - there's hope yet.
|
i think last night confirms boro's relegation. very poor side. can't see them earning automatic promotion next year either.
|
More Tevez rumours floating around...
|
would be brilliant but any deal would probably rely on alonso being sold, which is also looking more and more likely :(
