Jo would also be worth another loan if that was a possibility, but i too don't rate him worth anything like the fee City paid. I know we were after Kevin Kuranyi from Schalke? He would be worth a gamble if the fee was reasonable or better still, if a loan deal could be struck. ;) COYB! 8) |
Kev, are you going to Goodison this weekend? If not, why not? If so, see you there.

Speakin about Liverpool it's been reported in the press that Rafa has told Babel he can begin lookin for another club. Personally I like Babel, but if he's only ever gonna be used as a squad player and make the odd apperance from the bench, then I think we should let him go and try and get a decent fee for him. |

Personally, I think we should keep Babel until January. See if he is any better, if not, sell! |

2 days to go! |
Well this thread hasn't had many posts in the last few days ... :p

What do we reckon to the transfer speculation then?
I always like to keep up with all the tabloid hypothesising, although there hasn't been anything major spoken about yet just a lot of empty rumours flying about. Will Ronaldo leave? Will Barry choose City or Liverpool? Does Ancelotti seriously think he can tempt Kaka to Stamford Bridge?... |
Gareth Barry signs for Manchester City for £12m on a five year deal.
After 11 years at the Villa, and being a great leader and one of the most consistent performers in the Premiership. No Villa fan would blame him for wanting to leave to go to Liverpool or another Champions League team somewhere. He's put on top-class performances year after year, but he needs to be playing at the highest level at this stage of his career. I reckon he would have still got a great reception upon his return next season. But... ...he has left to join a team of misfits that had to scrap for a top-ten place this season, didnt come close to challenging for ANYTHING, and are not in Europe at all next season (let alone the Champions league!). Gareth Barry, you money-grabbing little swine!! |

I think Barry will regret his move to City when they are still mid table/top 8 come the end of next season. I can't f*cking stand Mark Hughes the mopey miserable bastard. Hope he gets the bullet soon.
Lmao @ Tony Adams making a total tit of himself about the Celtic job. |
The only thing I can think of is that Barry has been told exactly who their targets are this summer and he's convinced (or been convinced) that they will have a competitive team by the start of next season. If that's not the case then I agree, he's a money-grabbing b*stard who's pretty much thrown away any hope of a half-decent England career or ever winning any silverware domestically in order to line his pockets.
As for Tony Adams, I don't think he would have made unfounded claims he had been contacted about the Celtic job if he hadn't been in talks with them. Why would anybody do that?!? It's blatantly media spin to cause a stir and he either never made the claims in the first place or Celtic have been talking to him and the media is trying say they are denying it. I vote for the former and I hate how vindictive the media is when it comes to defamation of character. Place your bets on where Kaka will end up though. The last I heard Real offered £63m and Chelsea have come in with £73.5m. Personally, I'd like to see United oust Ronaldo to Real and step in to the mix to sign Kaka - but then I would rather see Kaka at Old Trafford than the likes of Real or Chelski to be honest! :D |
I agree with you about Barry.
Liverpool tried to put a bid in at the last minute but he had already passed his medical AND signed. I'm happy we didn't get him because I want Alonso to stay and I think he will now seens as Barry has gone. Kaka won't leave I don't think. It's his dad/agent who wants him to go so he can get a bit of money. Rumours have it that Liverpool want Distin for 2m as back up now that Sami Hyypia has left. Meh, not really bothered tbh. How can we keep Skrtel, Agger, Carra & Distin happy? |

and...... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...ic/8079665.stm Someone is not telling the truth! ;) |
Lots of transfer news going on. Adebayor could be going to AC, Distin to Liverpool, West Ham want to buy Fanni hahahaha.
|
Everton were linked with Fanni but i believe he prefers a move to Liverpool. He'll be right at home with all the other pussies haha. Ok that was shit.......
I was reading before about the debt Liverpool have. Any of you reds worried? |
I bet they don't have their new stadium by 2012 that's for sure!
|

Yeah, I'm worried, but Man U are in 700m debt or something, so not that worried. As toy our post RS8MBOR8, didn't ever think the staidum would be built by 2012 anyway. |

I think it's also a case of, if United do sell Ronaldo, there'll be a lot of cash for new players as a result. I hope they do tbh.

I'm a little concerned at the noises UEFA are making with regards to potentially prohibiting teams from competing in Europe if they have an unusually large amount of debt on their books. Let's hope that doesn't come up to bite us at some point! :?

It just said on SSN that Newcastle have put their entire squad up for sale!

Local radio/local newspaper are reporting Villa are closing in on Owen, with a 50K-a-week, 2 year deal.
EDIT: The club have officially dissmissed it as rubbish. Gutted! |
Anyone want to see the new Everton AWAY shirt?

If he still has ambitions of playing for England, he might have to swallow his pride and come to us; shouldn't be too difficult given that he grew up a Blue. |

Everton should try and get Daniel Sturridge. He's a good one for the future and knows were the net is. Out of contract now as well. Or has he signed for someone else? |
Good result and a reasonable performance form England against a piss poor team. Good to see Lescott get a game. He should have scored too!
|
Yeah, I'm just a little concerned that they're squandering too many chances. The flip side is they converted six but that doesn't tell nearly the whole story. When you compete against teams of Italy's, France's, Brazil's or Argentina's quality, you have to make every chance count because you aren't going to get that many in a game.
Only a few of the passing moves put together by England last night would have cut apart a well drilled defence and I don't think they actually converted any of them - predominantly because Walcott ended up as the man with the last touch and he's about as hit-and-miss as Shaun Wright-Phillips. Rooney, Lampard and Gerrard are the ones that have to bring the quality to the game as Johnson, although brilliant last night, will not get the free reign against better opposition without us being caught out at the back on the counter. I did think Beckham played a fantastic role sitting back and playing long, cross-field passes to the wings as anytime England forced Andorra back so far that there was little room to manoeuvre, they could pass it back to him to spread the play. That said, we were missing Ferdinand too and, with he and Terry both fit and able for South Africa next year, the likes of Cole and Johnson can push on knowing they have that defensive pairing behind them. I really hope that Hargreaves gets himself fit and in contention for his England spot next year too as he is a first choice starter for me and a shame he's missing so much for United due to his knee complaints. I did wonder tobh as to why Ferguson even bothered buying him form Bayern as he's as about as reliable as Owen is for injuries. :( |
