Richie Sambora interview

Hey y'all! A newbie here. But I just found out that there's going to be a cool interview with Richie on this website here on Monday, and it's going to be audio too, so we can hear him speak!

Very cool.

Let's see if Richie answers my question :p

The interview :)

EDIT: Shit questions...

From the interview:

1. Richie and Jon have an album's worth of material, and they're going into the studio with the band in January
2. He's working on backround music for more than one movie.
3. His house is a "sanctuary of non-work" and he only records in actual studios.
4. They do demos in John Shank's studio, which usually become the records themselves.
5. He reckons the guy suing the band is crazy, and doesn't even think the two artists can be compared.
6. Beside around two words, musicologists deemed that the two songs have nothing in common.
7. Richie doesn't think the first two records have good songs.
8. Keep The Faith was the hardest album to make, because of all the changes going on. Slippery When Wet was the easiest.
9. Richie originally played accordian but "didn't get enough bitches" so switched to guitar.
10. He often writes songs on piano, though he doesn't think he's very good at it.
11. He uses a few pedals, which I can't be arsed to type out.
12. He hated his "squashed and small" guitar sound from the '80s. And got the inspiration for his sound from then on from Jeff Beck, who he thinks is a genius.
13. He says he doesn't do the long intro to Wanted anymore to make space for more songs, and he thinks he plays enough solos all night in the "two hour, 40 minute" (yeah right!) set.
14. Les Paul is his oldest living friend, and is very funny and witty. They're on the same wavelength, apparently.
15. He didn't think Who Says You Can't Go Home would be a hit.
16. He has a bunch of songs for a solo album, but abandoned it in favour of a new Bon Jovi album.
17. Richie's solos are shorter now because he doesn't think the songs require them so much anymore.
18. He draws inspiration from topics including travelling, seeing people struggling, having good times. He talks about going through his own tough times and how it inspired Lost Highway.
19. Before a gig he plays along to an album to warm up, sometimes it's Jimi Hendrix, sometimes Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Allman Brothers...
20. He answered my question about his favourite Beatles album...no favourite, though, he thinks they're all great. The interviewer liked my name (Gas-Panic) anyway :D
21. His favourite guitar is the '59 Les Paul.

Not a great interview, really :(

The interview was quite boring and dry which is a shame especially since Richie can be quite colorful. It's a shame that we will have to wait some time to get another solo record for him. I hope his vocals hold up into his 50's :(

Awsome, he answered my question.
