I got this yesterday and I was pretty disappointed to be honest. I was excited when I saw the setlist but the performances aren't great. I never thought I'd say this about Richie as I idolise the guy but he sounds really sloppy here and messes up a lot of the solos. He also really over sings in a cheesy cliched blues rock way on IBTFY.

Jon sings ok on some songs but is painful on others. Also not sure about the bonus songs, surely if they were actually part of that concert then they should be on the main feature. It's not really a bonus to get songs that we really should have got anyway. Why were they left out when the hideous version of Living In Sin was included? Why do Bon Jovi always do this with live DVD's? It was the same with Live In London where huge chunks of the show were left off. Just give us the full show and maybe even an accompanying live double cd album like most bands do.

I only watched it once so may be being harsh but once again it seems like we have got a bare minimum release, no frills at all, no extras, just the show with some songs left out, not been lovingly put together at all. I suppose like Jon says (in a roundabout way), they're not a band of the people anymore, just a large multi-national corporation.

Suffice to say I will not be making the long trek to the 02 Arena, if it's corporate fans they want, then that's what they will get and their shows will be all the poorer for it. If they announce dates in the North of England then I will go, as long as tickets are not ridiculously expensive but if they don't and can't be bothered travelling then neither can I. People in the UK stuck by Bon Jovi in the 90's when America tired of them and this is how they repay us?

I love Bed Of Roses from that night.

Jon looks like he is singing it without looking in pain and is walking around, shaking hands etc...

Really good DVD, IMO.

Can someone ask Obie about Central Park?

He did mention before that he was doing a bit of mixing with that show.

Kinda sucks.

I don't understand why it's being released so late in America. It's not like we get bonus footage or anything.

As far as I know there's one DVD and two Blue-rays (one including the documentary).

My version has the documentary and I have one Blu-Ray disc. The whole idea of Blu-Ray is to fit more on a single disc... as well has being in HD of course.

My guess is that there's two versions of the DVD, on with just concert footage and a two-disc version with the doc on the second disc.

Having said that, I can't recall seeing a two-disc version advertised anywhere and only know about the standard and deluxe editions of "The Circle". The standard edition, you just get the album but with the deluxe edition, you get the album plus the doc. Is this where the confusion's coming in?

For me...

Great performance:
blaze of glory (bettere than 93 and 95 version)
blood on blood
born to be my baby
bad name (the chorus is very powerful. This part "and you PLAY your game" it's not usual for Jon to sing with this energy

Very Good performance:
Always
Dry county
Halleluja
I'll be there for you
Keep the faith
Bed of roses

Only Wanted sounds awful for me.

Anyone else think the cover is crap?

Looks like it has been printed off.

Sorry, yes, I confused my very self. One disc DVD and Blue-ray. The documentary is included on the one Blue-ray disc.

That's what I thought as well. I hesitated buying the single DVD as I was sure there is a 2 disc version. But, there isn't apparently.

Probably.
