personal favourite live performances

some people may think what the **** is this all about but im just having one of those moments and thought i would share it with people who give a shit. musically its from one extreme to the other, although i know there are a lot of michael fans on here too, which is no wonder as he is arguably the most talented thing ever to land on earth. anyway bonjovi and michael jackson are the two musical acts i enjoy more than anything else and it has been this way since i was around eleven or twelve. im 25. but i was just thinking to myself, who do i really prefer more? i prefer bon jovi more and im sure most of you would understand why, not suggesting that i believe michael is guilty but just because he has declined immensely in quite a lot of ways in recent years. so i was watching the performances i like most from the two and thought i would share it with you guys. anyone like one more than the other? thank you to any replies

Difference between Jon and Mike?

I would say Mike is obviously a bigger Legend. But when it comes to LIVE Performances, Mike surpassed his Peak in the early 90s, whereas Jon's Peak is still current :)

I dont know how u can compare them, they are totally different performers/artists, type of music and performance.. Jon doesnt dance and is in a band context...Michael is the opposite..

you must understand though its not an actual comparison its just enjoying two great performances and reflecting on both types of music and artists. i know its a bit useless but i just thought people might be interested. i suppose its really targetting personal preference

It's weird you bring this up because lately I've been getting back into MJ a little bit - more so the J5 I guess, and watching his stuff on YouTube... he's an awesome performer. I remember trying to copy all his moves when I was little (like loads of people did, I'm sure) - never got that obsessed with anyone else :p

When he's on stage, dancing, he's like the coolest guy in the world... even though he's so far from being the coolest guy in the world that it's not funny.

I've never gotten that "coolest guy in the world" vibe from Jon.

But to answer the OP, I don't really love either performance much. There's WAY better of both those songs.

Everyone wanted to be MJ when they were like 12.

Any proper grown up would want to be JBJ - I mean, who the **** wouldn't?

Anyway, yeah, I liked MJ when I was a kid and he was at his peak - Bad was one of the first albums I owned, but that was really MJ at the top of his peak and about to begin a long, hard fall.

Musically - you can't compare the two, but Billie Jean is one of the most iconic tracks written.

But then - so is Prayer.

And Jon can still sing and kill it live, put on a 2 to 3 hour show, and every member of the band still has that magic when they can be arsed pulling it off.

I don't think MJ could pull off a 30 second song.

Though the world's still waiting to be proved wrong. Everybody wants to be proved wrong.
