It's in Belmar New Jersey and it's the corner of E Street and 10th Avenue. Right at the corner of the public library. It's where the Tenth Avenue Freeze Out happened. You should be able to see it on google maps here:

Belmar is a tiny little town just south of Asbury Park on a bit of land between the ocean and the Shark River Inlet.

Nice read - I never analyzed the lyrics quite that closely but had pretty much come to the same conclusion based on what I know about Bruce's history and the Born to Run album.

Reports on BTX that a live recording of the Darkness record (using the remaining members of the original line-up) was filmed for the forthcoming boxset at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park on Sunday. :)
