Another non-believer finally falling LOL. It might depend on WHY you are having a terrible week (flunking out of school versus female trouble) LOL.

If speaking to your misery might help try the album Darkness on the Edge of Town. It's the sort of album that could only have been written by someone who had had a bad few years.

If you want some happy music however to try to lift you up - go for Born to Run (the album). She's the One or Night or even Thunder Road (It's a town full of losers and we're pulling out of here to win).

SO much good music out there for people in pain. Bruce seems to know how to speak to that without wallowing in misery.

Well, I'm having a pretty awful night and an awful week. Per custom during these wonderful occasions, I surf youtube looking for music to fit the mood and point me in a better direction. So I notice one of my friends on facebook has Spirit of the Night favorited. I checked it out. I've heard the song before, but I never actually SAT down and listened to it... I loved it. Playing it over and over.

So what else should this Brooce noob try again?

Bruce is great.
In combining rock'n'roll music with great stories and deep lyrics he and the E-Street-Band are unique.

I think a very good song for standing up again and help you out of a bad mood is "Countin' on a mircale" of the Rising record.

But as said Bruce has countless songs for nearly every situation you are in.

At the moment I'm really digging the song "Lucky town".

I heard this cover of Dancing In The Dark last night. I quite like it.

GOD DAMMIT BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN IS SO COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everynow and then I stop in my tracks and I think "**** me, this guy is so damn brilliant". It hits me like a ton of bricks, like I'm hearing his music for the first time.

I love you, Bruce. So much that I feel I know you on a first-name basis (and whenever I mention just your first name around friends and family, they know who I mean )

Hey I saw that a couple weeks ago too! I was in bed, it was like 4am. Luckily I suffer from insomnia anyway so I was awake, but I was damn confortable. But my mum text me from downstairs to say "bruce bio on TV". She heard me racing down the stairs 2 seconds later :D

It was crap though, the narrator couldn't pronounce Patti Scialfa or Danny Federici correctly. But all those bio things are crap, yet somehow I always watch them when there's a person of interest on.

Did it also remind you how I was the one to tell you to give that album a chance? <_<

yes yes, i know you were the one who told me to look into haha, i just forgot how i fell in love with it a few months ago. Yea that guy miss pronouncing Patti's name when all the other interviews were saying it right...and no bruce music. but ah well it served a purpose.

Goldsausage 04-09-2010 02:12 PM

And there was no actual interview with Bruce :(

I did learn something though - Bruce was a loner in school?! I always assumed he was really popular, not because I think he's real cool but because he just came across as someone who everyone liked. At least, he always gave that impression.

Oh well, he's certainly popular now.
