I guess its one of those Japanese vinyl replicas that pops up everywhere. The storyteller dvd is brilliant, I love it to death. |
I never bought the Storytellers dvd. I always thought it was a lame documentary for some reason.
I salute you, TS |
Watching the Blood Brothers doc on DVD for the first time.

I love the Storyteller DVD as well, the unedited version is coolest though IMO. |
Well I opened up my Japanese thingy last night, the CD was in a plastic sleeve thing and the linear notes were on some fold-out piece of paper like you would in a vinyl :(
I WANTED A BOOKLET WITH PICTURES DAMMIT LIKE IN CDs!!! And now, because I've got this unusual CD in my collection I feel like I've gotta buy the rest of those Jap ones <_< I'm gonna end up with two of every Bruce album. So it's like a Japanese import yeah? Or just a Jap vinyl replica? Because the actual CD doesn't look like a vinyl replica, looks like every other CD. Also I bought Lucky Town (hard case!!) today. Slowly getting them all to own! |

I prefer digipacks, hardcover or not, over jewelcases. Then again, the digipacks/cardboxes Bruce uses are crushed already in the mail because they are sealed.
But when I do have the choice between digipack or jewelcase I definitely go for digipack and am willing to pay a bit more for that as well. I salute you, TS |
I also prefer digipacks over jc.

Bruce Springsteen VH1 Storytellers uncut Filmed April 4 2005, Two Rivers Theater, Red Bank, NJ This is the complete and uncut footage of Springsteen live at VH1 Storytellers. It's a three DVD set. NTSC. Pro-Shot From a post on r.m.a.s.: "The unedited Storytellers is 122 minutes long. The longest VH-1 broadcast of the show was in the neighborhood of 50 minutes. You get the whole songs, where VH-1 cut them down to a couple three minutes. You get all of Bruce's commentary, where VH-1 just gave you the Cliffs Notes versions. You get the extra takes of "Nebraska", "Jesus Was an Only Son", "The Rising", and "Thunder Road". You get Bruce's screw ups, false starts, bad notes, and his wandering into the crowd trying to borrow a kleenex." Disc One runs 52:51 and includes: 1. Devils & Dust and Bruce's discussion of the lyrics. 2. Blinded By The Light: Great story by Bruce about this song, how he wrote it, how Clarence was missing in action and that's why he appears on only two songs on the album. 3. Brilliant Disguise (with Patti). 4. Nebraksa. This was not shown on the VH1 show. Bruce plays this twice and he explains the songs in depth. Just great to watch. Disc Two (52:51) 1. Jesus Was An Only Son (on piano, he plays it twice and discusses the song). 2. Waiting on A Sunny Day (a lot of fun, does his Smokey Robinson imitation). 3. The Rising (does it twice). 4. First play of Thunder Road. Disc Three (17:30) 1. Plays Thunder Road for the second time. talks about living near the Inkwell (restaurant) in Long Branch, NJ and writing the song. |
Today I bought the "blood brothers" DVD. It was a lot of fun to watch, to see Bruce just goofing around and the recording bit was interesting. My only complaint is the lack of music in the film, a little bit more music and I would have been completely satisfied.
