I just don't know if that's gonna happen in this economy and with Max going west with Conan. So my scheming continues.

Kathleen, this is all your fault!

I waited and waited for more UK dates i thought surely he would do a proper gig in England as Glastonbury was already sold out before he was announced....But nothing :(
I know what you mean about the financial climate...And i guess we are lucky anyway for having another tour so soon after Magic, but this doesn't stop me from wanting more!

 I blame my mother for having the Essential Collection amongst her CDs.

Thats the great thing about him doing US dates first. By the time he gets to the UK he will have sorted out what goes down well and if songs work in certain places in the set.

haha i sure hope you've not just jinxed it :p i can see it now, no thunder road and a rainy day in a muddy sommerset field lol

i think your definately right about the setlists though! hopefully certain changes will be made but i like waitin' on a sunny day being in the set! i think that'll go down great at most gigs and i love marys place (i think someone
mentioned it early in the thread) it was great live!

+ i want jungleland!!

Nah i get the feeling we are due a nice summer, and a non-muddy Glastonbury.
And hey even if it rains Waiting on a Sunny Day would be apt! What a tune, i'll pray for that at Hyde Park. Along with Jungleland, Promised Land, Racing in the Streets, 10th Avenue, For You, The WRestler, She's The One...etc, you get the idea :)

I know <insert evil smilie here >

Great discussion here guys - I actually go out on a nice sunny Sunday afternoon and look at the mischief you cook up

The Bruce fan are fcuking nuts in comparison to the Bon Jovi fans. Backstreets was my "home away from home" for a few years but I gave up. Anything you said got picked apart and then you got beat over the head with it. And I'm a huge fan mind you. I just happen to think that there are other bands worth listening to - and that "just maybe" Bruce is NOT God <gasp>

I moved in here in 2002 (you didn't have to register way back then in order to post) and I have been here ever since. I post occasionally on Greasy Lake but not very much. I stayed away from the Bruce crowd for a long time.

Don't mention Jon Bon Jovi over there if you want to have any sort of rational conversation - he is HATED.

Also Mary's Places is hated because it is not as IMPORTANT and SERIOUS as Bruce's other songs. It is fluff I tell you - fluff. Our savior is not worthy to be singing fluff. (The fact that Bruce seems to like it means nothing to anyone there). That's one reason that Jon Bon Jovi is hated there. He does not write serious lyrics - it's all fluff and has no dignity.

They seem to have forgotten that rock and roll is supposed to be FUN.

OK - rant over. I'll check and see if there is any blood over on the Greasy Lake board LOL.

You should have known better than to take an afternoon off without getting a sitter for the kids! LOL

I decided pretty quickly that Backstreets wasn't even much fun to read. Greasy Lake isn't as bad, but I'm not about to start participating. That would be way too scary! LOL I'll just read and learn a little here and there. BTW, if Oli stirred things up over there, I haven't found where. I like what they call PBPs -- setlistvision. I haven't figured out why they post pictures of cake and fish at the beginning, though. LOL Inside joke, I'm sure.

So if Jon is hated so much, do they get pissed when he shows up at a Bruce show like he did last year? Or is it okay since he's come to kiss Bruce's ring?

And Mary's Place is fluff, huh? So it is like Capt. Crash! (At least as far as the diehards are concerned.) LOL It seems like a little fluff here and there in between all the IMPORTANT and SERIOUS songs might be welcome in a 3 hour show. At some point, too much IMPORTANT and SERIOUS can get downright depressing. I can stay home and watch CNN for that.

EDIT: Forgot to ask - have you found the Glendale show yet? Seems like it would have been up by now. Surely the amazing Bruce tapers didn't miss a show, did they?

I've never been up on the festival idea TBH. I really toyed with going to Bamboozle this year (Day one headliner is Fall Out Boy, Day two is No Doubt) But I really couldn't justify spending money to stand in the parking lot of Giants Stadium seeing a bunch of other bands I don't know/like to see them, when I can see them solo. So I waited for the other ND tour dates to come out, and have tickets for that, and I'll see FOB at the next available chance.

That's what's nice about Summerfest. If the band you want to see is headlining at Marcus Amphitheater, you buy a reserved (or GA lawn) ticket for that show. That ticket also gets you in for the rest of the festival, so you can see other bands (on 9 or 10 other stages) if they interest you. Oh one other good thing . . . no camping. Thanks to a very nice deal on Hotwire, we'll be crashing at a Sheraton.

Yes they get pissed. I could probably find the review of this past Hope concert from December 2008 where the person who posted the review had to say something about "no nasty comments please" when discussing Jon's participation.

The first Hope concert was in April of 2003 and Backstreets (the Bruce magazine that has been published forever) put a picture of both Jon and Bruce on the cover from that show. You should have read the horror on the boards because that little shit Jon was taking away from Bruce cover time.

I visit the site to get news and I post occasionally (when I can't keep my mouth shut) but that's about it.

Nope - no Glendale show yet. The western shows are not usually as quick to surface as the eastern shows. San Jose blew me away there were so many sources posted so quickly.

Have you bought more storage Terri LOL. I'm looking at another Bruce tour and thinking I am close to the edge and need more room.

I was amazed about San Jose -- 3 different recordings posted in less than 2 days -- and people were nit-picking about this or that about the recordings! WHAT? Talk about ungrateful snots.

And yes, I'm thinking about another TB. Thought I might separate the audio and the video now before it gets to be an even bigger project. LOL How did this happen? I used to have some Word documents and a bunch of dog show photos on a tiny little corner of my otherwise untouched hard drive!
