I go to these shows and quite literally get sucked in and I don't surface until it's over. Are you going to any shows on this tour Alana? They can't keep this up forever you know - if you can see them you should. |
Wow. That setlist is friggin amazing.

Just read the first post of this thread for the first time!

So he was old AND cheesy. Then Streets of Philadelphia, which let's face it doesn't have the same energy as a boy in his early teens. The first time it connected for me was watching the E-street band sing the Rising on Letterman. If they can put that much into a TV performance. So the album followed ::puts on into the fire:: and then the Crystal Palace gig, which I was so convinced was going to be the world's greatest I bought a ticket for James. Despite the fact he earns like 5 times as much as me. It was pretty cool. But still pretty old! So many bald heads having the greatest night of their life. Pretty cool. I loved it. But not life changing. Life changing came at the acoustic show at the Albert Hall. It's something I'll never again see - one man hyptonising 6000 people so. Literally everyone within reach was in tears at some point during the show. The River that night was the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. Since then 3 or 4 of the best 4 or 5 shows of my life... Somehow he just always takes you somewhere special. Makes you face life but cleanses you. And lots of JOY. There's just nothing like it... |

Enjoy the show you will see - I honestly don't think that this same lineup will be touring all that much longer. Some of the same people perhaps - but not the entire E Street Band - and even that isn't complete anymore :( |

Y'know, I've only been listening to Bruce Springsteen since about 2007. Was flickin' through the music channels one day and heard about Bruce Springsteen songs in the space of half hour, Born In The USA, Philadelphia, something else and something else. I just fell in love.
I remember my mum had downloaded a couple of Bruce Springsteen songs a couple of years beforehand, The River and Philadelphia, she once made me listen to them both but it wasn't my thing. So after this day of...rebirth...where I just suddenly loved these Springsteen songs being played on television, I decided to head up town the next day to buy his greatest hits. Fell in love with The River and Philadelphia, not to mention Born To Run, Murder Inc, Secret Garden and most of the entire album. Later that year I bought Magic, brilliant album, fell in love with it. Also ripped Devils & Dust from the library, never got round to listening to it though. Also used the same trick for We Shall Overcome, listened to a few tracks but didn't really grab me. Then this year, bought Working On A Dream, really impressed with Life Itself and a couple others but overall pretty much pretended it was not in excistance. Oh and I also had the song Tom Joad, may have downloaded that, loved it. But yeah, I pretty much took a long rest from Bruce Springsteen. Anyhow - this past week I have been delving into Bruce Springsteen's discography and overdosed on him. I have been amazed by some of this magicians material. I have fell in love once more with the songs I had previously loved and now started many more affairs with many more songs. At the moment I'm listening to Downbound Train constantly, what a beautiful song. Oh and Cover Me :) |

ahh right! i would have never guessed that clarence is 67!
and i see what you mean, there has to be a time when enough is enough i think for a musician that's got to be pretty hard. It'll be a shame to see the him go but just seeing the E Street band live is something to be quite proud of (well i think so anyway) :p |
