Just bought myself a new computer as my old one packed it in so now I'm finally listening to GOTJ from Stockholm - and it is as amazing as I remember it. Must be the best version ever! I wish he would have made the entire album in this fashion.

Goldsausage 07-05-2009 03:01 PM

My tickets for Hampden Park arrived yesterday :D

Most boring ticket design I've ever had the displeasure of recieving.

No picture on it or anything - just a bland "BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN & THE E STREET BAND" across it.

However, now that I have the ticket I'm even more excited for the show :D

leigh547 07-05-2009 03:13 PM

cant wait for hampden show gonna be a 600mile round trip just over a week to go now and i agree the ticket looks horrible

Does yours say ticketsoup on it? I didn't even order from there - had no clue it even existed.

And also, I would never ordered from a site named TicketSoup :|

I best not get all the way there to find out I've got fake ticket made by some 10 year old.

leigh547 07-05-2009 03:29 PM

yeh ive never heard of them either but ive looked it up and they are a genuine company

Neurotica80 07-05-2009 03:30 PM

Was supposed to be seeing him next week but my mate went and got pregnant with twins after we got tix :( No way of getting up to Glasgow without her now, proper Gutted. I hope its not their last tour together

ticketsoup are a new mob. pretty much no different than the rest except their tickets look even shittier than ticketwebs >:-(

the hyde park ones were shit too. I wanted a photo ticket for at least one of them.

leigh547 07-05-2009 04:12 PM

what songs do you want to hear at hampden?

hometownboy 07-06-2009 11:45 AM

Pretty Women from Munich, well worth checking out!
it's amazing that they can just play a song like that!
is that the power of the best band in the land?

That was awesome. But what most people probably don't know is that Bruce and Roy Orbison were friends. Bruce was also a special guest on his Black and White Night special. If you haven't seen that special - you should. It's one of the best music specials there is.

Jim Bon Jovi 07-06-2009 07:47 PM

I text one of my friends last night to see if he fancied a party at mine the night before the gig and he replied saying:

sorry mate, 4got to say I sold my ticket because this trip to munich has left me skint.

schoolboy error of the highest order.

I probably shouldn't tell him I'd have tapped him the money so he could keep his ticket :D

Malachy 07-06-2009 08:50 PM

Heading down to see Bruce on Sat in Dublin!!

only problem is that im going alone! lol.... none of my friends wanted to go with me... but hey who cares its the Boss!!

Tho slightly scared.. last time i was in Dublin my car got broken into and cost me a fortune to get fixed... so im hopefully going to avoid driving this time lol!

Crushgen24/88 07-06-2009 09:49 PM

I can't believe they broke out Jersey Girl the other night. First time outside of Jersey in like 17 years, and first time outside of the US ever.

I knew about the special, found out a couple of months ago during my "Roy Orbison Obsessive Phase". Yet to watch it though.

And that Oh, Pretty Woman cover was pretty cool :)

Yes, that is one major special tour premiere of a song.
They got some great shows the last days !

I salute you,

I was there and I just remembered that song from a BJ bootleg. It was played because a girl weared a shirt with the words written over the front and as he saw it she took it off and he received it :p It was a nice closer.
In overall it was just amazing! My first Springsteen concert ever and it is really worth!! In the beginning a guy played a famous waltz from here on his harmonica, that was unexpected :-O
From the new songs I was very impressed by "Outlaw Pete". The mystic western theme and vibe wow. I bought the new album because of that but I am not that impressed expect that song and "The Wrestler". Like the older material better  Am I wrong?

Thunderstrucker 07-08-2009 09:28 PM

Nope, I think I like 3 songs tops of WOAD, Magic was way better, more groovy in some ways.
My Lucky Day, Tomorrow Never Knows and Good Eye I like the most of WOAD.

I salute you,
Thunderstrucker

Just bought me some tickets to see Bruce on Saturday night in Dublin :)
First time ever seeing him so looking forward to it :D

Goldsausage 07-09-2009 03:48 PM

I just got an email reminding me that I'm attending Hampden Park next Tuesday to see Bruce Springsteen.

PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT, AS IF I NEED REMINDING THAT I'M SOON GOING TO BE IN THE PRESENCE OF THE BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSS!!

Jim Bon Jovi 07-09-2009 03:51 PM

so who's all going to hampden then?

i think i'm more excited about this than hyde park since i know what to expect and it's a proper bruce gig as opposed to a festival.

leigh547 07-09-2009 04:54 PM

Its Boss Time!!!!!!!

LOL Ticketmaster does that here in the U.S. Gives me a good laugh everytime I get one!

It sounds like we've got a lot of JTers going to shows in the next week. Have a great time everyone, and be sure to report in!

I got an email about 2 weeks ago reminding me I'm going to see Nine Inch Nails on the 15th of July

Surely if I was the sort of person who had already forgotten they were going, I could easily forget again in those three weeks inbetween?

:o I've used Ticketmaster Australia but I've never gotten an e-mail reminder about an upcoming concert! Not that I ever forget I'm going but... *feels left out*:(:p

I'm also very jealous of young Oliver.

DAZ666 07-11-2009 02:19 PM

I'll be there tonight...first ever to see The Boss...really looking forward to it.

I envy all you people here your "first time". Have a blast :D

Irishshin 07-12-2009 01:39 AM

Bruce rocked Ireland tonight. He was just fantastic. First time every seeing him and it won't be the last! It rained from bout 4.30 until halfway through the show when if played Waiting On A Sunny Day. Fantastic show. Three solid hours of Bruce!

DAZ666 07-12-2009 04:38 AM

That was one hell of a 3 hours,I really enjoyed it.Pity bout the rain but I liked the way it cleared up just as he started Waiting on a sunny day...few more songs I would have liked to hear but I heard the main ones I wanted...some very funny moments during the shiw but Bruce did have a nasty fall on stage though...was funny watching my girlfriend dancing to American Land after telling me a few weeks ago that she doesn't like the song.It was a great example of some really good New Jersey rock and I really seen where Jon Bon Jovi steals his tricks from.

On a side note, what is with the boos from the crowd,I've noticed it before,is it a New Jersey or a Bruce thing or are they actually saying Bruce.

Malachy 07-12-2009 04:39 AM

Just back from Dublin (new record time, and this time my car didnt get broken into)

soo how to describe....... Bruce was.... HOLY ****ING HELLL AMAZIN!!!

that is how u do a rock show, screw it...... thats how u do a music show period!! totally blew me away tonight! i mean MY GOD! and playing 3 hours, still didnt have me satisfied!

I went alone, pissing rain from about 4.30 untill bruce played Sunny day.... and i swear i wouldnt have cared if the rain kept coming and coming! it was just brill! beats the 3 Jovi shows iv seen hands down! the crowd were on there feet the full way through! everyone was simply pumping

Bruce went into the crowd, grab all the signs they had made, then made the set list up from them as he went along (dont know if he does that often, but adds to the full performence of the show), mix of young and old people ther all bouncing and singing tongether, including a very nice blonde southern girl (im from the north of ireland lol) who i wish id gotten to know a lot better than i did! lol, its Half 2 in the morning and im still buzzing of that show! my friends are going tomorrow night, id love to be with them!

Question..... If Jon was such a big fan of Bruce, why the heck does he not just copy him live!! lol...... including the 3 hour long shows lol

Everyone asks this. Not boos but Bruuuuuce :D

I'm so glad all you guys enjoyed your first Bruce show - he's the best I've ever seen (except for a few Led Zeppelin shows where I swear I saw god).

asok80 07-12-2009 11:47 AM

Yes, Bruce delivers the real deal. It is interesting isn't it that Jon has copied Bruce here and there over the years in live shows but never the versatility of the setlist or the long sets. However, I'm not sure Jon's voice would hold up to be honest, don't know how Bruce does it.
Jon did change up the setlist somewhat during the last tour though which was a nice change.

Oh no did Bruce fall again! Was it during American Land as he did in Stockholm when it rained? He "broke his ass" as he put it..haha so next night a friend of mine had made a sign saying "How's your ass?" which he put up on stage commenting "the ass is fine", and for the last show she made a sign for Twist and shout adding "break stadiums not asses" that he also put up on stage before playing T&S, this song being the one that nearly demolished our stadium in Gothenburg in -85. It had to be closed for 5-6 years while they reinforced it.

Ferret 07-12-2009 01:52 PM

I fucking hate American Land. At Hyde Park I was buzzing off Jungleland, and then he decided to do a ten minute version of that stupid song, and totally blunted the edge of the last one.

And it makes me even more pissed off that he didn't do Hungry Heart with Jon in the end. He could've played a great song with another great singer instead of a needlessly extended version of an already shitty song. Or he could've played I'm Goin' Down :p

Butters 07-12-2009 03:42 PM

It was during American Land when he fell. He got it right the second time and he actually mentioned that it was the second time he's done that.

It was an unbelievabley brilliant gig. The best I've seen Bruce. Round two tonight!

Jim Bon Jovi 07-12-2009 04:02 PM

btw if anyone is wondering about pubs to hit before the boss gig. the goose right next to glasgow central will be heaving with fans and it's just a train journey away to the stadium

any pub near mount florida or kings park stations will be rammed too.

i'm keeping my favourite one to myself though, don't want it getting too busy :D

oh yeah and if you're heading back into town after the gig for a hotel or whatever, go to kings park train station so you can get on before mount florida. you'll thank me for that one.

Goldsausage 07-12-2009 07:13 PM

Man, last month waiting for this gig wasn't too bad.

But now that it's so damn close the days are going so slooooooooow and IT'S TORTUROUS.

Luckily my new guitar arrives tommorow so that'll keep me occupied then - BUT TODAY IS GOING TO GO SO SLOW.

But even though I'm dying to see him, I'm gonna be so down once the gig is over cos I won't have any more Springsteen to look forward to :(

And why do you think so many of us nutcases go to multiple shows? It's really to put off the post-show depression LOL.

Captain_jovi 07-12-2009 08:44 PM

I want to re-do my first Bruce show with better seats. It would have been pure magic if I could have actually stood up.

Aw gee Matt - that's too bad. I hate shows like that - you never really get into them enough to really enjoy them.
