There is an official release on one of the singles - can't remember which one though - but I think one of the crush ones.

Nope, one off the One Wild Night 2001 singles. It's a recording from 2000 and they didn't have a marching band on the Crush tour. The sound of the marching band during the 1996 These Days tour was played over the PA and the marching band was therefore never really live. Obie (yes, there he is again) just copied the 1996 pre recorded marching band on the 2000 Crush recording from Toronto. A quite ridiculous move if you ask me, but then again, I've never understood all the editing Obie does for "listening pleasure".

His editing on "OWN Live" is horrible. I think he did it in order to put more songs on the CD, if it would have been the original double album I think we wouldn't have had those edits. But still: You just simply CANNOT cut out a chorus from "Prayer" or deleate the coolest seconds in the end of "Runaway". Argh.

But did he really mention "listening pleasure" as an excuse?

Sad thing is the casual fan would probably not even notice these stupid edits.

The LIVE cd should have been so much better, this has been covered before.

I only just became a fan when i got the OWN CD, and haven't listened too it much since then so i haven't really noticed anything. I was only 8 lol.

Considering that They are without doubt the best live act in the world, OWN LIVE was a disaster. Living on a prayer is probably the worst live version i have heard, the chorus overlay is so obvious, when compared to say the wembeley version, There are some real crackin live tracks that have been released as "b" sides but OWN live was a real let down.
