jovi record sales

anyone anal enough to know how many records jovi have sold in their career. im aware that this 120 million figure has been knocking around for a couple years or so now but anyone know exactly what it is now?

after doing a lot of research over the past year or so i have settled my mind in thinking that they are about the 8th or 9th biggest selling rock band ever and the 2nd biggest in america, just in front of metallica/eagles and behind aerosmith who have apparently sold 150 million w/wid. Although like u2 who have sold 140 million w/wide they count singles.

how much of a difference would that really have made though to worldwide sales?

might sound silly i just find it interesting to see where our band stands so that when you get slagged off for supporting them you have some ammo, haha!

incase anyone is questioning this i have decided this must be the order for the list:

1. Beatles - approx 1 bill
2. Led zepp - approx 300 mill
3. Queen - approx 300 mill
4. Stones - approx 220 mill
5. acdc - approx 200 mill
6. Pink Floyd - approx 200 mill
7. Aerosmith - approx 150 mill
8. U2 - approx 140 mill
9. Jovi - approx 120 mill????

all of the above have been around decades longer giving them time to gather sales and even aerosmith and u2 have a good few years on them!

Didn't The Eagles' Greatest Hits sell something like 120 million copies? I'm sure it's sold even more than Thriller. :|

well its the second biggest selling album of all time. still a hell of an achievement (42 million)

thriller has never been matched and never will be. it blew the world up! (well, well over 100 million)

Nah nah...Queen is not that high up. They are more like 200 million. And where did you read that Aerosmith sold 150? as far as I know they are at around 100mil, just like GnR.

Also, I very much doubt that BJ sold 120mil. Maybe including Jon's solo albums...

including jons solo its 'add on another 10 mill'

aerosmith are known as the biggest selling american rock band. check their website & wiki. i know its a turd source but to be fair its usually correct. anyway everywhere states that they have sold that much

I think it sounds pretty reasenable. They released 100,000,000 in 2004? Then HAND and Lost Highway... That will easily be 20 mio...

to be fair dangerous is much better album.

its the exact pattern with slippery and these days if you know what i mean.

more his influence & songwriting. better stronger agressive feel and lyrics

Even though I'm a fan of Micahel Jackson's muisc, I don't have Thriller either. :|

dkJSC - I think LH only sold around 4 million copies, and I doubt HAND sold 16 million. :(
