I saw U2 live a couple weeks ago and was completely blown away by them. Completely amazing live. Bono still puts so much passion and love into his songs live. I never cared much for "No Line On The Horizon" but after seeing songs like "Moment Of Surrender" and "I'll Go Crazy...." live, I went nuts. Never have I seen Jon put that much effort and love into his songs, since perhaps the 90's. Bono still gives a damn about what he sings, and what's wrong with that? He writes things that are relevant to his life, not shitty song like Superman Tonight that have no backbone or personal emotion to it. Seeing U2 live, a band that is on Bon Jovi's caliber (in both album sales and touring) definatly made me think on why I'm so obsessed over a band that has been incredibly mediocre the passed 10 years.

And I agree with Tico's Stick. People just bash Bono because they have nothing else negative to say about them. It's popular to bash Bono - like, South Park does it - so that makes it fine to do so, right?

Bono's a good guy. He doesn't sing that badly too, from what I've heard in recent videos? He sucked a bit of balls in '09 but man when the dude is on form he can hit a note. Not that I care much for U2.

oh and that was a good episode of South Park.

Why should Bono stick to one thing? Do you know how much debt he has wiped out and the amount of relief he has given to Africa? Billions, that's how much.

Then he goes out and makes music and tours, which brings joy to millions.

So it seems this Bono chap is bringing a lot of light into people's lives. But people like yourself hate him for it.

BTW, I'm not even a U2 fan, as you can see up the page.

It's not a lazy opinion. It's my opinion. My opinion may be shared by many others, does that make it any less valid? I don't think so.

I have loads of respect for the man and his philanthropy, but I think he needs to not be wanting the spotlight so much. When I go to a concert, I go to hear music. I don't go to hear who to vote for. I don't go for a life altering seminar. I just go to hear the music. Maybe it's because I don't really like their music that gives me a skewed opinion.

And I don't watch South Park, BTW.

.

I love both of them (Springsteen more), but honestly there was a lot more preaching of that kind at the Bruce shows I've been to than the U2 show.

It is a lazy opinion, opinions can be and are generally wrong. You can't stone fence an opinion and say "well it's my opinion so you can't criticise it"

He uses his name to highlight poverty and injustice, and has never asked anyone to vote for a particular party.

Another reason why U2 is so fantastic. Could you see Jon do this? Absolutely not.

U2 +1
Bon Jovi -1
